"Why didn't you tell her?" Riley asked

"I have a girlfriend. I didn't want to lead Jamie on."

"If you love her, then why'd you ask Danny to kiss her? And then you let her hit her head and-"

"Shut it Toby! You don't understand what happend!"

"Then explain GODDAMMIT!" Riley shouted

"I don't have to-"

"At least explain it to Jamie, she was the one hurt-"

"I said FUCKING STOP!" My vision went dark, and when I could see clearly again, I saw Riley, hand against his jaw... Did I just punch him?

"RIley I-"

"Get your fucking shit together, man." He said then walked out the door with Toby

What have I done?

Jamie's POV

Kian and I were taking a stroll hand in hand, when I saw Riley come out of their house, looking pissed and then he kicked their fence, screamed then sat down on the curb

I looked to Kian but he just shrugged

"We should just go back-"

"Kian, please. Riley looks hurt. He's still my friend."

"Alright"

"Riley! RIley what's wrong?" I ran to his side and Kian followed

"You're hurt. Come on, I'll put some ice-"

"Jamie, I think you need to stay away for a while" He whispered

"What? RIley?" Toby shook him

"Connor's head is getting messed up and it's because of you. I think it would be best if you kept your distance from him, no, from all of us. We'll keep him away too. Jamie, you know we love you but this is for the better. Please." Riley begged in front of me and my mouth just hung open

"I uhm, okay. But please let me just take care of that bruise for you. Just one last. Please" I said and he nodded

"Kian, can you leave the three of us alone for a minute." I asked, as we walked back to my house

"Sure." Hesitation was evident in his voice but I just smiled reassuringly then he left

"Toby, could you get a towel please?" I said

"Okay."

"Why'd he do this?" I asked Riley as I pressed the ice pack onto some parts of his face

"You'll find out in time."

"What the hell does that mean?" I stopped and stared at him

"It means that now is not the time to talk about it. And it's not my problem to tell."

"Yes, it's your problem too if you got punched for it" I held on his jaw a bit too tight and he winced in pain

"Sorry. But look, Riley, this whole staying away thing--"

"Yeah yeah, I know you won't last long" 

"How did you-"

"I know you can't resist me, Jamie" He said and I punched his arm

"I have a boyfriend, you know?" 

"What? Are you and Kian a thing now?"

"Yeah."

"Cool. I'm happy for you"

"Jamie, here's the towel." Toby handed me a blue one

"Thanks." 

"Thank you Jamie" RIley gave me a hug and soon enough Toby joined in

As much as I hate to admit it. I think Riley's right, maybe I do need to stay away for a while.
