Connor's POV

"Why did you fight? "

"Denise, I don't want to talk about this right now." I groaned, she can get really irritating at times

"Was it about a girl?"

"Stop pushing it. " I yelled and she tensed up

She looked taken aback and I think my expression softened

"Okay, it was about Jamie. " I said calmly

"Why? " Her face looked blank

"He was saying disgu--"

"Do you still love me? " She blurted out

"What? "

"Do you still love me? " She took a step closer and held my hand

"Of course I do. And you know it. " I cupped her cheek but a tear escaped her eye

"Why are you crying?"

"Look me in the eyes and tell me that you do not have feelings for Jamie. " She said, ignoring my question and shocking me

"What? You know that I-"

"Just fucking do it. Connor "

"I don't... I fuck" I put my head in my hands and Denise was full on crying

"I want you to be happy, Connor. I always thought that it would be me making you happy but you've proven otherwise. I love you and I'm letting you go so you can be happy. Fight for her, Connor... Well you literally just did but you know what I mean. " She was smiling but tears were falling and it hurt me to see her like this

"But I love you... "

"No you don't. Maybe in a different way, not in the way that you used to. I love you Connor. " She pressed her lips against mine for one last time, both of us were breaking down, but she was brave enough to crack a smile.

And the moment that she walked out the door... I think she walked out of my life too.
