Deeper Than Faces

Chapter 6

Lucy's POV

  I was so shocked to see him, I was expecting an apology but wasn't expecting him to come to my house, I was surprised, but at this point, I am suppose to be angry and not surprised, so I tried as much as I could to put on angry attitude.

   I stared at him like, what do you want?, and he said nothing, it was written all over his face that he had nothing to say,
if there was something I knew about Alex, it was his inability to construct words of apology, I wouldn't blame him though, he hardly offends people so it was only normal for him not to know how apologies go.
I waited for him to say something but with the way his eyes dangled I could tell the words were not coming, I had already forgiven him, but I found his effort towards apologizing very charming and it made me blush in the inside, I couldn't help it any longer so I adjusted the way I stood just so I could properly rush into him with a tight hug,
as if he knew what I was planning, he stretched out his hand to give me something and then I seized the opportunity and gave him a tight hug.

    OMG!, he felt so warm and smells so nice, I didn't want to leave his arms but then I heard Lindy scream, Alex!!!, I then withdrew, suddenly feeling very embarrassed, I didn't look at his face as I collected what he had brought, it was my all time favourite chips, come in I said to him as he carried Lindy and they spoke on how much they had missed each other.

   I sat next to Alex and ate out of the chips, as I continued watching the cartoon on TV while they spoke, "where is my chips? " Lindy asked and obviously Alex didn't get her one, he held her closely and said something to her hearing alone, they smiled at each other and looked at me in a very suspicious manner, "what are you two up to" I asked but before I knew what was up, Alex held me firmly that I couldn't struggle as Lindy snatched the bag of chips from my hand, laughing and running upstairs and into her room.
 

"let me go, my chipppps" I screamed as I struggle to run after Lindy, but Alex didn't let go until we heard Lindy shut her room door, I picked the pillow by my side and playfully hit it on Alex as he covered his face laughing immensely, I stopped and sat at the extreme end of the seat, folding my arms and acting angry but obviously not.
Alex kept laughing as he came closer cuddling me and promising he was going to get me another one,
He was so sweet, I rested my head on his chest as he tuned the channel looking for something nice we could both watch, "hey, would you help out" he said, obviously not knowing what channel was best, I chuckled,  cuddling even more into him and showing no interest in what he was saying, I just want us to be like this.

    After lots of search, he still couldn't find something interesting, he then decided we watch African magic, he wasn't a fan but we had to watch something, I adjusted to watch properly, still cuddled up in him, I could feel his heart beat as his chest moved up and down, his hot breath on my neck and the fresh scent of mint from his mouth as he spoke.
   The normal predictable Nollywood movie was on, we could all tell the end of the movie from where we had joined them.

    As we watched, I suddenly remembered that Alex wasn't the master mind of what went down earlier, it was Charles, "where is Charles? " I asked in curiosity, that boy is very annoying but I don't know why I just like him, though we argue and fight a lot but he's sure the best friend I have, "Charles had something very important to do, he asked me to plead on his behalf" Alex answered, but I knew that was a lie, typical
Charles wouldn't say that,
I chuckled as I adjusted, putting my head on his laps as we continued to watch and laugh on what was shown on TV.
