Deeper Than Faces

Chapter 10

Lucy's POV

    I left the room feeling so embarrassed, what did I just do?, did I just try to kiss my friend?, OMG!  Am I in love?.
So many thoughts came to my mind, making me forget I was hunting Charles minutes ago, I sat on the sofa directly facing the TV, looking so focused on it as though I was waiting to see what was about to come up, I was lost in my thought of how Alex might have taken what I just did and what he'd be doing in his room now, I didn't know what came over me, I couldn't control my self in his arms, the only thing that came to my head was kissing him as he held me that close, I sensed the tension in the air but I didn't care about all that, all I cared was kissing him.

     I heard his footsteps as he climbed down the stairs, but I didn't turn to look, just so no eye contact would be made and no awkward moments would arise again,
But to my greatest surprise he came down and sat very close to me, I blushed instantly on feeling his presence and the smell of mint that took the air, I looked at him and gave a deep smile, it came right from my stomach making the butterfly in me to move randomly, I could tell from his looks he hadn't misunderstood what I did, I chuckled and cuddled tightly in him as we waited to see what Charles had organized on TV.

    few seconds later, I jumped up, screaming my voice out, as soon as the TV came up, Charles had just brought my favorite and most anticipated movie, the Money heist was a film I had waited for since last year to watch,  I couldn't hold my joy as I rushed into Charles and gave him a tight hug, although we fight and quarrel a lot but this my best friend sure knew how to make it up.

" hey My lady, I know I made you angry and you probably would love to shoot me, but I just want to use this medium to say am sorry " he was being so dramatic as he knelt down in front of me and said those words, I knew he would still do something stupid but I couldn't stop blushing on how honest he sounded, "awwww, thank you so much bee" I said and hugged him again.
Alex smiled as he stood up and went inside the kitchen to get something, I played the first episode of the movie and relaxed fully and comfortably in the couch, still wearing a deep smile on my face.

Alex's POV

I kept smiling as I watched the drama Charles was putting on and how easy he could use words to his advantage, I could see how happy Lucy was and also couldn't help but realize how beautiful she looked,
I was practically lost in her as the thought of what had happened earlier kept playing in my head, I immediately stood up smiling and walking towards the kitchen as she turned, i shrugged off the thought and went to get some popcorn for the movie.
I sat next to Lucy and handed her the bowl of popcorn, as we all watched the movie.

    We were so carried away by the film as each episode got more interesting than the one before it, we soon lost track of time, and even the feeling of hunger was nowhere near us, but then we all came back to the real world as my dad walked in, it was 8:26pm,
"welcome back sir" we all stood and greeted as I approached him to help carry his bag, he had bought some food and the biting feeling of hunger ran through my stomach as the delicious aroma travelled the room. Charles winked at me with his thumbs up as he saw me holding a white nylon bag with the name of the eatery boldly written on it, I playfully signalled it was time for him to go home knowing fully well Charles wouldn't do such unless he had seen the bottom of that pot.
