×Yeji's p.o.v×

I finish off packing and do a quick check on my stationary. The other girls are also finishing up before we get to class. I laced up my sneakers and waited for the others outside.

Ryujin, as usual, makes sure we've switched off all electrical equipment before we all skipped down the stairs together. The other dorm's were still lit up, mainly because it wasn't even 8.45 p.m. yet. We just wanted to have an early start. As we went down the stairs, in our casual outfits, the announcement bell rings three times.

I don't like where this is going...

The mic is switched on. Kim Jisoo, the head girl of Les Infires, gives a simple opening, a little intro, before getting to the announcement. It was after school hours, so the announcements don't have to be as formal.

"Okay, all students are ordered to be only at their own classes, no mixing, and read the new arrangements for Monday's classes. The classes will now consist of boys and girls, so some girls will be moved to other classes and there are even new classes in order. Tonight, we'll be joined by the Blue Rose students to rearrange and tidy up the classes. Everyone must arrive before 9.15, as usual. Thank you."

I silently cuss and Ryujin does the same. I hate stuff like these, because they're literally a pain in the tush and usually they're dragged until two to three hours, minimum. Ugh.

We arrive at the school building and part our ways. Lisa is in Platinum, Chaeyoung and Ryujin head to Silver, last but not least, me in Alpha. There's also Bronze, and the classes are in this order: Alpha, Platinum, Silver, Bronze. We're sorted by academics and extra-curricular activities, so I'm curious on how the new arrangements are made.

Anyways, now I'm here. In front of Alpha's main entrance where there's a notice with the words New Arrangements written on top. I peek inside. It looks worst than a sunken pirate ship in here. Aside from our usual tables, there were about a dozen new tables huddled in a corner. My wrist-watch shows 8.45 p.m. I might as well take an early look at the list before anyone else comes close. Yes, I hate that kind of skinship. Like, my face will go 'biches wtf keep the cones away from other cones'.

"What the---" I try not to squint my eyes on the one hundred percent new names written across the paper. Seriously, it's too obvious the school didn't even try to keep the old class names. "What even are these?" I mumble in speaking volume as I read the new class names. Violet, Carmine, Primrose, Sage, Azure, and Sterling. I proceed to find my name in one of the classes. I'm in, hmm, Violet. Okay...

Which is basically Alpha but with a whole new name. Thank goodness. At least I don't have to move chairs or tables or whatever. Which is the best thing that could happen tonight. No commotion, no dragging of tables, no elbows crashing against each other...

"Excuse me," a voice calls out and I almost jump out of fright. Call me over-reacting, but it's a dude's voice. I turn towards the entrance, clutching my backpack tight. The dude is still there, uncomfortably shuffling at his spot, probably because he saw how freaked out I was, reacting to him as if he was a slime-encrusted bog monster.

Except, well; this supposed slime-encrusted bog monster is cute. So cute. Elegant lilac strands fall in front of his eyes as he bows and gives me a smile. A boxy smile.

However, my ddaeng body isn't defrosting. I'm shooketh. No boy has ever bowed to me, nor smiled at me like this (I hardly ever see any boys, okay). This is so... weird.

We kind of stare at each other for a few more seconds, and the silence is louder than any response. Then he giggles. Awkwardly, and it was more like a "shiet I need to say something" laugh.

Oh my gosh I'm being a creep. What the haeck, Yeji. Chill.

"Um, excuse me..." the boy finally opens up, softly brushing away his bangs, "Is this class 04-Violet? I'm kinda lost and I can't seem to catch up with this school's setting." He gestures to the piece of map in his hand. (Yes, this school is so big we even have maps for guests) I couldn't help but notice that even his hands are pretty. What? Pretty hands are kinda rare, believe me.

I was still a little struck, but I nod and say, "Yeah. Well, this used to be class 04-Alpha, so it's kinda confusing for new students, I guess."

"Oh, thanks for the info." The boy's tone cheers up so suddenly I try to hide my smile, tho not really. He adjusts his glasses before heading towards the huddle of tables. It was like one of those movie scenes where one of the characters gets a spotlight of his own and there's those fake af lights and sea wind swooshing and flower petals. I can't believe a mortal can be so, so pretty in just a matter of seconds.

And I'm being so, so creepy. Don't lose your shiet, Yeji. Staph it. You got no chill. Stob it!

I was ready to pack my things and head off but he signals a question.
"Miss?"
Actually, he just called me 'miss'. Huh. Noice, in a way.

He's in progress of moving his table according to the seating plan, "Are you one of my classmates? Like, actually, future classmate?"

I nod, "Yeah. My desk is on the third row, second from left. I'm Hwang Yeji, by the way." Why am I telling him this? He didn't ask.

"Oh, hi!" He squealed. He's tripping me and I'm falling, "Nice to meet you. It's way better to at least know someone before moving in on Monday. And looks likeee..." he goes through the seating plan again, "You'll be sitting next to me in class. Nice."

Okay, what does that 'nice' even mean?

"Huh, yeah," I try to process everything without buffering, so my mouth mumbles, "Mshgshjs." Darn mouth. Darn clogging brain.

He extends a hand for me to shake, "I'm Kim Taehyung, by the way."

I awkardly accept the hand shake, still awed by this boy in front of me. He went from awkward to shy to suddenly ethusiastic in a matter or minutes. Me? I'm still a potato in headlights.

He continues to move his seat and plops it right beside mine. I shuffle at my spot and decide to go to my seat as well. In silence, we both organize a few things at our respective desks. A few other students (ex-Alpha students) enter the room and do their own thing. The room fills up in about five minutes, with girls tracing the list and boys rearranging their seats.

The boy beside me--- I mean, Taehyung, continues to rearrange the papers and decorations on his desk without even sparing the other students a glance. I guess a lot of girls find pretty boys with lilac hair attractive , because you can obviously hear giggling and whispers from each respective corner. Yeah, they're my classmates, but the louder it gets, the more obnoxious it is. I calm thyself from the idea of turning around, looking them all in the eye and screaming 'I get it, okay. Taehyung is pretty. He's also has a nice attitude and he calls me 'miss', you magpies!'  Wait, I'm the only one who knows his name. Wow.

I wonder if Taehyung is just ignoring them, or he's flattered by the whispering but he doesn't show it, or he's just oblivious as hell.
Personally, I like all three options.

I glance at the other boys who've just arrived. I recognize one of them from a Scrabble competition last week. Another one of them I met at a literature camp two months ago. And, umm, I think I saw one of them in a Balenciaga advertisement. Welp.

10 p.m. I have nothing else to do, so looks like I can pack my bags and move my tush away from the crowd. Zipping up my bag, and before running away (I hate these crowds) I take a final glance at Taehyung. He spares me a glance too. I just look at him for a few seconds, mouth saying nothing, but he smiles and mouths a 'bye'. And, just before I leave the room, I turn around to see him waving at me. Not frantically, but, with small gestures.

Those actions speak volumes, honestly. I still think about it, letting it sink in as I made my way towards 04-Platinum. Or actually, 04-Carmine.

Now I have a reason to look forward for next Monday. I guess I have a new friend.
Which is, rare.
