I'm such a idiot.  How could I have let this happen. If I had reacted quicker she would still be here, but I hesitated. She stole my heart and I crushed hers. How could I have been so foolish. I promised her I would never let them hurt her, I broke that promise.

1 hour earlier

"Guys hope everything is good, but richard and veronica pulled up and I'm gonna take a guess that they have people surrounding the place" ethan shouted and straight away I knew we were fucked. I had planned to get all information onto a USB and delete all files so they couldnt take it, I also planned to take Harper too the warehouse where we would stay until the threat is over.
"Boss what do u want us to do" logan says.
"Ok, ethan go to the garage get the car ready, make sure to load it with all the guns in this house. Harper go to my office, you will find a USB in a drawer stick it into my computer and download all files, once all are downloaded delete all files. Grab my laptop and take it the garage with the USB. Logan cover me" I ordered and just like that we all went our separate ways.

"Well looks like we have the upper hand again" Richard snarled as he and veronica  walked inside. His gun pointed and me and Veronica's at Logan.  We had taken out alot of their minions but we were certain they had more. I was aware that we needed to move into a room, right now we were below the stairs at the entrance way. For harper to escape she would have to pass us, that wasnt gonna happen if we didnt move. "How about we discuss this in the living room" I suggest. "I dont think so, it's not worth us getting comfy especially when it's just a quick visit" richard says. "Well let's make it quicker, what the hell do you want" I say. "We got what we want" veronica says as she giggles. How? They wanted to kidnap harper. No. Realisation hits me and I panic. "James" I turn around and see her being held by one of their minions. She looks at Richard and veronica and I see panic and pain consume her. She begins hyperventilating and tears fill her eyes. Something was wrong. "Hello sweetie, we meet again" Richard says in a sickly sweet tone. Again.  They have not before. What if she has been working for them. No she cant have been.
I hesitated and in that moment of hesitation she had been brought into the arms of veronica. I notice the laptop in the minions hands and without even asking, logan shot him and grabbed the laptop. "Please James, please. You promised you wouldnt let them hurt me" she begged and my heart broke.  I walked forward my gun pointed at them. My heart wanted to rip veronica and richard into tiny pieces for hurting my love, but my brain was focused on the fact Richard had said again, my past with aria made me lose focus and I made a terrible mistake.
"What did he mean by again" I asked and she looked down. She didnt want to tell me.
"Harper" I warn only she burst into tears. "Let's go sweetie, we have alot to catch up on" Richard said and it made my blood boil, how was this happening right now.

"Father, let me take her"
I look at the door and see max, he smirked as veronica threw her into him. "I knew you would fuck up" he said to me and dragged her out.
"Pathetic" richard shook his head and walked up to me. I was about to shoot but he spoke. So quietly that only I could hear. "Again? You wanna know why? Its because I visited my darling daughter as a pathetic guard"
And I was shocked, so shocked i froze. I couldnt do anything. I couldn't even raise my gun.
"Boss should I shoot"
"Boss?"
I couldnt speak.
They left.
What the fuck have i done.
