Chapter 1

Oh no! I looked unbeleiving at the alarm clock 8:30! Crap! I was going to be late! I struggled to pull on my ugly green jumper as I raced down the stairs. I grabbed my satchel and ran out the door. As I ran i patted my hair down. I looked at myself in the reflection of my phone.

Your kidding me! A huge spot right between my eyebrows. Suddenly I heard a thump of a body hitting the ground. It was me. I cringed with the pain my two knees were stinging. I looked down at them to see a huge cut on each knee with blood pouring out. I dabbed them with a tissue and pulled myself up with the lamp post. I limped the rest of the way to school.

I entered the front gates of the campus. It was a huge glass building. West Barren High. My phone bleeped it was my mum, "Have a good first day at school pet" i read. I rolled my eyes. She was the reason for this torture. I limed in through the front doors looking curiously around me. I noticed a sign that said "office" and I decided to follow it. The corriders were too bright, too trying to be happy. The yellow on the walls almost blinded me!

Finally I saw a door with an office sign on it. I knocked and waited. No one answered so I tried again. A tall blonde woman opened the door. Her hair was brushed back carelessly into a messy bun. When she smiled she looked fake like she was trying too hard and little wrinkles appeared at the sides of her eyes. She was wearing something my granny would wear but she must have been only in her late 20s! Her grey skirt went down past her knees. And her flats squidged as she she shifted her weight from foot to foot as she stood at the door looking expectant.

"Yes?"

"Oh em..I'm Bloom" I murmered.

The woman lifted her eyebrows and formed a line with her mouth. She said nothing.

"I'm Bloom...Bloom Rose? The new girl!" The woman still looked comfused. I then reluctantly murmered "The new janitors daughter"

The womans face lit up into her fake smile.

"Ohhh yes your mum came in earlier she said you might be a bit late" her voice was high and she talked to me like I was only 3!

"One sec love" she called as she retreated into her office.

I jumped as the lady's voice boomed from the speaker up in the corner.

"Could Matthew Douglas come to the office please Matthew Douglas" I junped as the lady appeared round the side of the door again.

"Sorry I forgot to introduce myself I'm the principal Miss Watterson" she cooed sickenly. I smiled and nodded. Miss Watterson looked on past me and smiled.

"Matthew" she said lengthening the "ew" I looked behind me to see Matthew Douglas. The best way to describe him is cute. His hair swept across his forhead in a side sweep under his beanie hat with a bobble on top. He smiled. Mmm he seemed friendly.

"This is Matthew he will be showing you around today" Miss Watterson nodded at Matthew.

"Whats your name?" He asked

"Oh Bloom..Bloom

Rose" I said.

He cocked his head to the side.

"Nice name" the he turned and walked away smoothly. He then noticed I wasn't following him. He smiled showing perfect white teeth and two cute little dimples. He ushered me to follow him. Maybe this school wouldnt be so bad if everyone was as cool as Matthew!
