Chapter 14
I felt a chill on my legs and I looked down. I had no trousers on! What could I do I wasnt going to walk home with just a hoodie. I had already made a fool of myself clutching on to Matty with just a towel on thank goodness it stayed on! I didnt want to make a fool of myself in front of the whole neighbourhood! I went to my last resource.
"Hey mum could you cone pick me up from school?" I asked shivering on the spot.
She answered breathlessly.
"Just walk." She said harshly. I hung up some use she was. Who else was there to call? I went behind the piers so no one could see me. I waited for at least 10minutes and then I heard a car pull up. I peered round the side of the wall and saw Matty getting out of a big Nissan jeep. He was rich! Another guy sat in the drivers seat but I couldnt see him with the tinted windows. Matty walked up to the school. I ran up after him and he jumped when I shouted his name.
"Need a lift?" He said with a chuckle.
"Kinda" I said sheepishly looking down at my now purple legs.
"I told my brother and he was happy to give you a lift home."
"Thanks..." I whispered.
Matty took my hand in his hand. His hand was so warm. He led me to the gates, opened the door of the jeep and let me in. I jumped up onto the big leather seat. It smelt like a new car. I saw why, there was a new car air freshener hanging from the mirror. Matty's brother looked round at me and smiled kindly. My jaw nearly dropped. He looked like Ryan Reynolds from The Proposal. I tried to smile but my cheeks were numb. His hair was short and spiked and he had the same amazing deep brown eyes as Matty. They were like melted chocolate they gripped me.
"Heard what happened. Never liked Willow, shes too..vulnerable!" He talked like a very passionate poet. I wouldnt mind him reading me a love poem!! He started up the monster and tore off down the road.
"Just tell me when I need to turn." I caught his eye as he looked at me through the mirror. I got my phone out of my pocket and pretended to text someone, I was actually looking at myself in the camera. I had no make up on, my hair was all frizzy from my shower, my eyes were all puffy from crying I looked a state! I ran my fingers through my hair and scraped it up into a ponytail. There, frizzy hair delt with. I watched out the window.
"The next left is mine." I said.
"Oh you talk?" Mattys brother teased.
"She can talk a lot!" Matty laughed. I smiled.
"Yea but right now my face is frozen and I have just been a victom of the football team so I'm not in the greatest chatting mood I could be in." I tried to sound cheerful as I said it but from the silence that came after I must have gritted my teeth a few times. Mattys brother must think I'm a nutter!
"Never caught your name." I said casually.
He coughed, "Jacob." Matty smirked. "but everyone calls me Jay ." Jay, that suited him. He pulled up in front of my little ivy-covered house. Matty and Jay both put their hands to the handles but Matty got out. He opened my door and helped me out. I could hardly walk my legs were so numb. I made it to the door and tried to open it. It was locked. I looked under the mat for a spare key, nope! I sighed.
"Come home with us!" Matty offered cheerfully. I would have been cheerful too if Matty hadnt kissed me earlier. I had already decided what I would do about Harrys date tomorrow. I was going to go and confront him face to face. I looked at Mattys concerned face. My heart fluttered but I ignored it. I hopped back up into the monster again and we drove to Mattys house.
