Chapter 5

Blue and I walked out of school together laughing and talking. Blue suddenly stopped and whispered to me,

"That guy was just checking you out" i looked over my shoulder to see a cute scruffy guy staring at my ass. I rolled my eyes. Blue sighed.

"Your so lucky"

"Ha why?"

"Thats Jeremy Fisher Ive had a crush on him from like P5!! Hed never look at me though"

I rubbed her arm.

"You are like the coolest person I have ever met" Blue gave a shy smile.

"Lets go get your hair done!"

We walked down the street passing houses that looked identical to the one before it. I heard someone panting and looked round. Delightment flushed over my face it was Matty!

"Hey guys (huff huff) boy, you'se walk fast" he puffed.

"Go home Matty" Blue teased.

"No I need to supervise what your going to do to Bloom!" I agreed!

Blue rolled her eyes and puffed mockingly.

"Fine then guess cherry pink and shaved at one side isnt an option then?" My eyes nearly popped out of my head.

"What?!" Matty and Blue burst out laughing. I was starting to get nervous. My hair was down to my belly button and it had taken a long time to get it that length! We walked past a pretty lake and finally we came to a place that resembled a town. One street with lots of colourful shops on each side. Hope fully there were a few side streets!

Most of the shops were Oxfam and SVP. This was my town! I was forever in charity shops! I loved to pick up loads of different pieces and throw them together and form an outfit. I peered in through the windows of British Heart Foundation but Blue tugged my arm. At the bottom of the street there was a small roundabout with a statue in the middle. I dont know why there was a roundabout there couldnt be that much traffic.

We didnt go as far as the roundabout. We turned onto a tiny alleyway.

"This is a shortcut" Blue explained. The alley way haunted me. The walls on eachside were really tall and in need of a paint job! I felt like they were closing in on me. Finally we came to the end and entered onto a square. It was beautiful compared to anything there ever was in Liverpool! It looked like marble tiles on the ground. All round the square were little antique shops and little fancy clothes shops. I then realized I wasnt breathing so I took in a deep breath of air. The air was sweet and the sweet aroma of coffee filled the air. Little benches were planted around the square. Most were occupied. Mostly by little elderly couples. I smiled as I took it all in it was like my dream. Little plant pots with a beautiful colourful assortment of flowers were planted. Then I noticed right in the middle of the square was the icing on the cake. Starbucks. I squeled excitedly.

"Brill right?" Blue breathed.

"Fabulous"

On the opposite side of the square which Matty informed me was called Caramel Square (how fitting) was a little hair dressers called Clouds. Hmm weird name for a hairdressers. The second I walked inside I was entranced. It was cloud themed! There were little clouds hanging from the ceiling. The whole place was sky blue. I felt like I was walking in the air!

Then a woman who looked exactly loke Blue came out from the back. She had a few wrinkles though and looked slightly older but other than that they could be twins! She gave us the same wide bright wondering smile Blue gave. Their lips were the same rosy red. (I should ask Blue what gloss she wears!) Blue gave her mum a hug.

"New friend?" She asked.

"Yea mum...I mean Indigo meet Bloom, Bloom meet Indigo"

"Nice name" we both said in unison and then laughed it off.

"So your here to get another one of your friends a whacky makeover?"

"You know it" Blue flashed back.

"Take a seat hun" Indigo put her hands on the back of a blue seat.

I took my seat closed my eyes and waited.

"3 2 1..open" Indigo said.

I opened my eyes and looked at myself. I almost had to look twice. I gasped. I looked like 10 years older. My hair was cut up to my shoulders. It was highlighted pink at the ends. The front of my hair swooped across. I looked pretty cool.

"You like it?" Bloom asked.

"Yea.aa!" I answered!

"You dont mind it that short?" Indigo asked.

"No" i breathed in. "Its..its amazing!" Matty looked at it approvingly.

"Make over time" Blue called.

"I havent been able to do this in ages having a guy best friend can be cool but I miss make overs!" Blue told me.

"Im out" Matty walked out of the shop shaking his hand.

Blue pulled me upstairs.

"Wait...you live here?" I was shocked imagine being able to look out your window and see Caramel Square every morning and best of all live right next to Starbucks! Blue nodded. Her house was a little apartment above the shop. Everything was blue inside and I mean everything! She went into the kitchen and poured two glasses of orange and handed one to me. She then walked in through a royal blue door into an ocean. The walls had murals of an ocean scene and her four poster bed had those princess shutter things I always wanted when I was little. They almost floated. Blue collapsed on her bed. Oh my gosh! It was a water bed. The bed floated calmly. I released my breath slowly.

"Fabulous"

"My mum did it all herself!"

"Fabulous" I repeated.

Blue laughed.

"You said that"

"Im just speechless its so pretty!"

"Thanks we worked hard last summer to do it she wanted to leave me with something amazing" I pondered on what Blue just said. What did she mean? Blues eyes glazed over for a moment and then she pulled out a huge grey safe box. She opened the buckles and out flew makeup of all kinds. Ive actually never seen so much makeup in my life!

"Pinks and blues would look good with your skin tone" she picked out some candy pink eye shadow as I quickly punched my mums number into my mobile.

"Hey mum?"

"Yes hun?" She spoke breathlessly.

"Whats wrong? Why are you breathless?" I asked worriedly.

"Oh Im out for a jog!" Releif rushed through me. "Hey why arent you home yet?" She questioned.

"Thats why Im ringing Im at Blues"

"Ok hun thats fine gotta go just remember curfews 10 on a school night" I rolled my eyes.

"Yea yea I got it" i hung up.

Blue patted the place beside her on her bed. I took my seat. She took eyeliner and outlined my eye.

"You should always graduate the eyeshadow start dark and go down into light. She showed me how to do it.

She then made me practise on her. We giggled when I messed hers up and she started hiccuping when I was putting her lipstick on so she had a huge smear across her cheek. She then grabbed for something under her bed. She pulled out a mirror. She handed it to me and I put in front of my face. I didnt look anything like my old scrawny 15 year old self I looked grown up! I was no longer Bloom I was blooming.
