Chapter 24
I glanced at my phone as I walked home. I couldnt find Dad after the mad panic and meeting Ewan...so I decided to walk home. I had missed calls from Harry and Matty. I deleted their texts before reading. I was blocking them out of my life. The past had never happened. Now was what mattered. I felt horrible that no one had contacted me or even acknowleged I was gone excelt for a couple of missed calls. Was I just the girl that had been there a couple of weeks and upset peoples lives? My mind drifted to Harry. My mind seemed to do that the more I told myself I didnt want him, I wanted him. I remembered the day we went to Starbucks and then to the lake. My mind suddenly went to the dress. The dress that Harry had bought for me. I forgot it back in West Barren. I remembered the feel of it and the way it made me feel and look so elegant and mature. Harry had wanted to get it for me, I recollected him talking to the lady in the shop in hushed whispers. If he loved me enough to buy the dress how come he hated me so quickly. I wondered why he was thinking right now...

Why hadnt she told me before? Was this passed as stalking? Illegal? I could easily track her with Blue's phone. This was was so creepy! Why was I doing this? Because I love her and she never leaves my mind...

Peter and I walked along the street linking arms acting like children and trying not to step on the cracks on the pavement. We reached the shop called, "School Stuff." Wow for a town called Bloomingville the town had no imagination. The door jingled and we stepped inside. Peter led me upstairs and facing us was a wall of different shirts, skirts and ties. Peter said you can wear anything as long as you wear the tie. I trailed my hand along the wall of clothes. I saw a short, tight, black pencil skirt and picked it out. Peter winked.
"Nice choice." I picked a white blouse and a maroon red cardigan. I took them into the changing rooms.
"Wait there." I said to Peter. "And dont peek."
Peter looked around him humerously as if I was talking to someone else.
"Me? Never!" I laughed, he was so funny and cute! I put on the clothes and looked at myself. It was nice looking at a mirror that was clean. I looked really nice. My hair needed cut though. I stepped out and Peter wolf whistled.
"All the other girls will be like." He put his finger on his lip and made an o-shape and he stared at me intensely. I giggled.
"Shup!" I flicked him. He rubbed it over exaggeratingly. I laughed. He pretended to look hurt. Im getting dressed. I turned to go back in and remembered Ewan.
"Pete?"
"Yea."
"I met Ewan."
Peter looked at his feet.
"Poor guy! He's real sound and cool just people only see..well that he cant see." It was funny seeing Peter so serious about something. I turned slowly and went behind the curtain. I must have sounded like a prick saying that. I said it as if I hadnt wanted to meet him. Im sure Ewan wouldnt want to meet me again after the way I acted. I grabbed my bag and brought the clothes out.
"I like what your wearing!" He said randomly. I looked at him weirdly. I was wearing a pair of black skinny jeans, Converse and a top and cardy.
"Nothing special."
"Thats the thing you dont have to try or want to try to look amazing you just do!" He smiled his cute wonky smile. He would make a great boyfriend to some lucky girl. He was funny, charming, passionate and just lovely. He looked into my eyes. They sparkled as his mouth widened into a smile. I leant back and grabbed the clothes I was buying and turned back to him. He looked off guard. I shrugged it off and I went to the till to pay. I looked over at Peter and he was sitting there looking like he was battling with himself.
"Coming?" I reached my hand out to him, after I'd paid. He took my hand and we crab-walked down the street.
"Its your last day before you start school." Peter announced when we reached my door.
"Wait there." He went into his house and came back a few minutes later with his swimming trunks on and a couple of wetsuits hanging over his arm. I tried not to gawp at his perfectly moulded six-pack and the tanned muscles in his arms. He was just so perfect. He told me to go grab my swim costume. I remembered I only had a childish Speedo one so I told him I didnt have one. There's a beach shop two minutes down, you go grab yourself one.
I ran down the street and searched for the shop I remembered seeing earlier. I found it, it was called The Beach Hut. I ran inside and an elderly woman smiled warmly at me.
"Hey! Do you have swim suits?"
"No sorry."
I turned to leave when she said,
"But we do have bikinis." I raised my eyebrows at her and felt like saying they are the same thing! She led me over to a wall of Roxy and Billabong skimpy bikinis. They didnt look like they would cover my much. They were all so skimpy but I didnt have a choice. I picked a nice pink Roxy one with blue palm trees. I paid the amount that was more than what it was worth and raced out onto the street. I ran to my house and saw Peter still waiting for me. I ran inside and changed in te toilet. Oh my gosh it was tiny. It would have to do. I pulled my flip flops out of my bag in the living room and went outside wrapping a towel round myself consiously. Peter smirked. I narrowed my eyes at him. He wiggled his eyebrows and walked down toward the pier. I kind of guessed what we were about to do when he stood at the edge of the pier. He threw me a wetsuit and I climbed into it with much difficulty. Peter stood back and watched me laughing and slapping his thigh. I gave him a look and he helped me into it.
"Are you not putting one on?" I asked.
"Nah." He said. He stood over at the edge. And motioned for me to come on. I stood back. I was scared. It looked exteremely high when I looked down. I shuffled over to the edge and looked over and quickly jumped back. Peter was taking his ends at me. I gave him a warning look. He widened his eyes at me and came closer and closer until our noses almost touched. I could smell his sweet ocean smell and I shivered. Then suddenly he picked me up and threw me over the edge of the peir. Before I could kick and scream I was falling fast towards the ocean waves. The cold was so shocking when I hit the water. I wasnt ready for it and I couldnt get my head above the water. I started to scream for help but no one could hear me. I felt my lungs fill up quickly with water. The coldness of the water paralysed me as I tried to kick to somehow get my head above the water. I gave up. I was going to die. I let myself go and I started floating down into the water. Suddenly I felt big strong arms go around my body. I clasped my arms around the persons neck. Soon I was above the water and I started spluttering and boking up water. The arms carried me up a ladder and dropped me safely on the ground. The taste of salt stung my mouth as I tried to get air into my lungs. I must have spluttered up litres of water. I kept coughing but soon I had enough air. Then I felt soft lips cover mine. He kissed me so passionately I felt sparks flying everywhere. I broke for breath and looked up into the blue eyes of my rescuer.
