Chapter 21
I was completely exhausted. I really needed to sleep but I didnt know where. I had no intention of sleeping on those minging mattresses that had been there one hundred years.
"Dad what will I sleep on?" I quized.
"I brought an air bed, you can have it I dont mind sleeping on the floor."
"Are yous sure?"
"Yes anything for you!" I cringed at how cheesy he was and how much he was trying. I smiled and he went to find the airbed. Just imagine twenty four hours before this I absolutely hated Dads guts and now we were sharing a house and he was telling me he would do anything for me.
Dad threw the mattress on the floor.
"Em how do you pump it?" I asked.
He tool the mattress and started blowing it up himself. It took him a long time and all of the air in his lungs to pump it up. He heaved when he was finished. He threw me a sleeping bag. I went up to my room and found my jammies. I climbed into them quickly and dashed downstairs not waiting to lay my head on the pillow..or mattress.
I jumped into the sleeping bag and snuggled in. I closed my eyes and no flashbacks came. I thought about Indigo. I wondered if she was all right. I quickly sent a text to Blue about here despite my annoyance with her at the moment. My mind was at rest and I fell asleep.
I woke up thinking I was in the hospital. Then I looked around. I was in Bloomingville with Dad! i smelt eggs and bacon waft about the room. my stomach felt unbearably empty. I rubbed my eyes as I walked sleepily into the kitchen. Dad was there he smiled warmly at me as I walked in.
"What time is it?" I asked. He came over and hugged me tightly and kissed the top of my head.
"Im so glad your here, I want you to know that." He told me.
"Yea well you said you were sorry and mum doesnt exactly want me."
"She loves you Bloom, who in their right mind wouldnt! She was just mad at me and thought I was turning you against her."
I nodded agreeing.
"And sweetie?"
"Yea."
"Its eleven o'clock." He said with a cheeky grin.
"What is that amazing smell?" I asked.
"Mcds finest egg and bacon roll with coffee." I beamed. My favourite. I sat down at the table and dad placed the food in front of me. I ravonously tucked in. It was delicious the juiciness of the bacon made my mouth water. I ate it within a few minutes.
Dad told me he was going to sort out our bedrooms today and that I could go have a look around.
"I think I will go for a run on the beach." I said.
I needed to clear my mind and I figured running was a good way to do that. I found my old sports gear that I remembered packing. It consisted of a pair of small black running shorts and a pink exercise top. I tried them on and they fitted perfectly. I looked at myself in the grimy full length mirror. I looked really sporty. I grabbed my iPod and pulled by Dr. Dre Beats out of my bag. I pulled on my runners and walked outside into the cool ocean air. It was even more beautiful in the daylight. I jogged down to the beach and picked up my pace. I ran along the strand. It looked like it went on forever. I put up the volume as I jammed to Coldplay. I was closing my eyes an nodding my head to the beat just enjoying the amazing beach. I met lots of people out running or walking or walking their dog. My arms had goosebumps from the freezing ocean air. I looked out to the sea, I couldnt find where the sky started and where the sea ended it all blended so perfectly together.
