Chapter 13
I quickly looked up to the stands. The first thing I saw was Harrys beaming smile right in the middle of the bleachers. Then I saw right at the front with an equally beaming smile looking straight at me. I looked around me Willow wasnt on the pitch yet. Matty mouthed "you'll do awesome!" And waved. I waved back and smiled. He was the best guy friend a girl could have.
The whistle blew....kick off.
I blanked out everything except the ball. I heard faintly people shouting my name. I passed when the ball needed passed. I tackled when tackling was needed, skillfully of course! And I scored when scoring was needed twice. Jane kicked me the ball and I saw my chance for a hatrick. I dribbled the ball up near the box and give it a whack and it went right in. I heard screaming and shouting. I was exhausted. I sat down on the grass and someone ran over to me. He leant down and helped me up. When I was standing he embraced me in a bear hug. I felt so safe and secure in his arms. I hugged back.
"Want to come to the cinema with me and Blue tonight?" Matty asked. I broke out of the embrace.
"Sure!" I beamed.
"Ile pay. My treat for your fricking amazing skills out there!"
I blushed. Then Harry strolled over he looked hurt. He must have seen our hug. Was he jealous? Then Harrys face went all solemn and meaningful. W
"Those other girls have no chance against you, not in anything and espeically not one of these spots on the team." Now I gave him a hug. He smelt like cinnamon and Christmas. I melted in his arms. I hate to say it but Mattys hug was a shade better but Harry made me feel special.
"Still on for tomorrow? Your not gonna dump me for a jock now your a peppy football player?"
"Peppy? No. And I havent even made the team yet and I dont think I will if Willow has a say!"
"What do you mean?" I then noticed Matty was still here. He had a cute confused face. His deep brown eyes were widened and his mouth lifted to one side.
"Never mind..." I trailed off not wanting to tell him his girlfriend is a complete prick.
"No seriously tell me." He begged.
I told him about in the changing rooms.
"Dont tell her I told you she'll set me alight!" I warned, being very serious.
Matty shook his head sadly.
"She promised." He said his eyes filling up. He just left then. Without a explanation. I told Harry I was going for a shower and that I would see him later.
After my shower I felt so refreshed. I wrapped a towel and myself and walked into the changing rooms. Everyone had gone. The lights were off. I switched them back on at the wall. I went over to the benches but my bag with my clothes in it werent there. I searched round about but I couldnt find it. Then a little white note caught my eye. It was sticking to the door. I grabbed it off.
"Show your true colours," it read, "have a nice night. Frosty dreams." It was not signed but I didnt have to think twice who had done this. I pushed the door with my hands but it wouldnt open. I tried with my shoulder but it was truly locked. I shivered it was freezing in here! I sat down on the bench, put my head in my hands and cried. I tried to stop feeling sorry for myself but the tears kept falling. I shoutef for a while in case the people setting up could hear me. I had only been in the shower 20 minutes and this is what happened? I cried and cried until my head couldnt take it anymore. It pounded. The pain seized me and I crippled on the floor. Then a spark came to my brain. My phone. I had left it on top of the shower. I raced to the shower room. I slipped on the wet floor and landed painfully on my bum. I got up and rubbed it. I reached up and felt for it. It was there. Joy seeped through me and I did a quick jig of joy.
