After Dan and I had that chat, he slowly backed into his room. It was maybe 11 but he had left me in the hall. What was I expected to do, feel at home? Watch something on the tv? Their flat wasn't built exactly the same as mine. It was actually opposite. Phil's door was open halfway and I knocked.

"Hi, do you need anything?" Phil asked.

"Yea, um, so-"

"Ok, I was listening."

"That's not what I was going to say."

"Oh." He blushed.

"So I think I'll just go back to my flat tonight."

"I thought you weren't supposed to until it was cleaned?"

"Yea, but I have an emergency tent and stuff in the box at my fire escape."

"No, here you can sleep in my bed." He started to get off.

"No, no. It's really fine. I'm actually curious to how it will turn out. I've never used it. Anyways, I don't want to wake up in the same house as Dan."

"I thought you guys were ok, now?"

"Yea, we are. But I feel awkward around him. Or maybe he just feels weird around me."

"Maybe you can come up for breakfast?"

"Yea, if I can wake up in time." I smile at him then wave.

"Let me help you with the fire escape."

He opened the window and let me out. I calmed down the ladder and opened my emergency box. It started to drizzle so I tried to work faster.
I climbed inside and opened up the blankets and pillows. Wow, I was totally prepared 6 years ago. It started to thunder and rain hard, but I was dry under my four blankets. It was a bit chilly, but that's what you get for sleeping in the rain. It was literally only 10 degrees before I wished I had brought more blankets. I finally discovered a spot where I was comfortable. But then I felt a drop. Then two.

Was there seriously a hole in the tent. This is the first time I've ever used it. I just put my blanket over my head and tried to sleep.

Maybe 10 minutes after, there was the loudest sounds of thunder and then I saw the sky light up.
In all my life, I have never heard it that loud before, and we're talking about London.

Soon after the tent starts to shake. Then the zipper on the side opens a bit.

"Alyssa?" A voice calls. It was Phil. "Come on inside, you'll get sick?" I had too much pride to go inside. I wanted to be strong, but obviously, I wasn't. "No, I'll be fine."

"But you're all wet. C'mon. Dan is waiting for you, he is making some tea."

I didn't have the patience to make tea or coffee at night. When I was small, my mum used to give some to me before bed, to help me fall asleep. But unless I have something to read, or anything to keep me busy, I can't wait for ten minutes.

I looked up at Phil, wearing the biggest raincoat. He gave me an umbrella and helped me out of my tent and we climbed throught the window.

"Aww, your all wet." Phil empathized.

"Yea, I had my other top, but I left it in yout car. I should go get it."

Dan spoke from the hall. "No, I will. It's ok stay here..."

He walked around and found the keys.

"Ok, I will be in the parking garage."

"No, we parked outside remember?" Phil answered.
