I was still with Dan, then my phone rang.

"Oh, It's the workers who are going to clean my room! I hope they can come early!" I was excited.

Dan seemed less excited. Was he sad I was leaving?

"Hello?" I answered.

"Hi, is this Ms. Burr?"

"Yea"

"Hi, we examined your home after the fire, and were called to fix it on Monday morning. Have you been staying in your home. We advise you not to for health reasons."

"Yea, I've been with my neighbors."

"Ok, we may need you to wait a little bit longer, there has been a problem with our system, all the schedules have been messed up so we're going alphabetically, you are number 23 on our list.

"It is serious. How long? I was the fourth before."

"Maybe another week. Can you wait?"

"No, I can't wait."

"I'm sorry, miss. We will ne there as soon as possible."

The line died.

"What happened, when are they coming?" Phil asked.

"Next week. Their schedules got messed up and I was so close to going back home! I really miss it."

"You can stay here." Dan offered.

"No, I've bothered you enough. I'll stay at my cousins or something.

I wasn't close with my family. They always lived so far away. My dad's lived in Northampton and my mum's lived in Manchester. We kind of lived in the middle.

"Are they close?" Dan asked.

"Um, no, not really. In Manchester."

"That's a three hour drive. Are you sure?"

"Yea, I should leave in a few hours before it gets dark. I'm going to pack my things."

I didn't actually want to go, but they didn't stop me. It was probably a relief i was leaving.

I went to pack a bag.

*Dan's POV*

I should have stopped her but she didn't like me as I did, her. She would have stayed. Although, I really wanted her to. It was almost snowing outside, she could get in an accident. I don't want her to sleep on the couch, but being stubborn as she is, she wont make me sleep on it. She would be here for another week or so.

I went in the office to think and stuff.

What if she stayed in the office, like a temperary room. I cleaned the floor which was almost completely covered in crisp crumbs and then tidied up the rest of the room. I even put lots of bankets and pillows on the couch to make it more 'bed like'. Things were moved to make more space and I took out my electronics so she could put hers there.

"What are you doing in here Dan." He looked at the room. "Save the spring cleaning for Spring."

"No, Alyssa's going to stay here."

"No, Aly is going to stay with her cousin."

I got off track. "Why do you call her Aly?"

"She told me I could. She's my 'little sister'." He made finger quotes. She didn't let me call her Aly.

"What?"

"We were talking yesterday, whatever."

"Anyways, I think she should stay close by, so I cleaned up the room for her to stay for the week."

"Aww, my little Daniel has a little crush, and on a fan too!"

"yea, yea," I tried to change the subject. "I'll catch her before she leaves."

I walk downstairs and knock on her door.

*Alyssa's POV*

I was just about packed and ready to call my cousin, Kayla. We've only seen eachother a few times throughout our life, but she was always really sweet, and I knew she would let me stay with her.

I looked at my half burnt Christmas tree. It was Christmas time, it was good that I was staying with family for Christmas.

Someone was knocking on the door and I was just hoping it was the cleaners. I opened it, and it was better.

"Alyssa, I have a surprise for you!"

"Dan, i have to leave, no goodbye cake." I teased.

"Ok, then take your things, just come with me for a second."

I took my bags and followed Dan up to his room. This was the most socializing I've done in so long. We stopped at his office door and he turned, I almost ran into him.

"Close your eyes."

"Dan, if a giant man in a costume jumps at me, I will kill you." I was terribly scared of that.

"What? No! Why would I do that?"

"Hey, it's happened more than once." he looked concerned.

He went behind me and covered my eyes.

"Do you think I'll look?"

I heard him open the door.

"Ok." He removed his hands.

"You cleaned your office?" Was I missing something? I looked around.

"No, I cleaned your room!" His mouth was wide open smiling at me.

"What do you mean." He gave me the 'you seriously don't get it' face.

"You can stay here! With us!"

"I already told you, I dont want to be a bother, especially around Christmas."

"Your not a bother, we want you to stay." I can see he wont stop asking until i say yes.

"Ok." I settle.

"Plea- Did you say yes? Ok, yea, you can decorate the room or something. I cleared all our things."

"It's like I'm living under the stairs."

"What?" He asked.

"Nothing, Harry potter reference." We both laughed a bit.

"Ok, I'll leave you to be." He smiled and closed the door behind him as he left.

I didn't now what he expected for me to bring, He cleared their whole desk and side table, I kept my bag in the corner and tried my best to get comfortable. I put my mscbook on the desk and plugged it in behind. That was it, all I could do. I kept my clothing in my bag. Oh, well that was it.

I did reareange the blankets and pillows because there were at least six.

Afterwards, I went on my phone just to see more hate. I didn't even do anything. I just turned off my phone and layed down.

I'm glad they were comfortable around me, it's nicer than seeing my family for the first time in 200 years. I ended up watching Lady and the Tramp which I had in my laptop already for I don't even know how long.
