"(Y/n)-san."

That was his first word after the pillar meeting. All heads snapped to the youngest pillar with wide eyes.

Muichirou's head was still tilted up to the sky as his listless eyes squinted, trying to dig through this brain for a specific memory. He let out a sigh, hopped down the engawa and made his way out of the gardens.

And you regarded that as a bad move.

You trained directly under Kanroji Mitsuri as her tsuguko. Often times, her name would match her well for your common topic of interest was romance. She'd tell you her logs about the blossoming love between two kakushi who bonded over their frustrations towards Tanjirou.

You pursed your lips and took a deep breath when Mitsuri entered the training hall with a gleeful grin directed at you. Rumours had it that the Mist Pillar and the tsuguko of the Love Pillar dated in secret. It became a hot topic between young girls and no doubt, Mitsuri knew all about it.

"So, is it true?" Mitsuri giggled like a schoolgirl and forced you to snack with her during break. "I heard it was love at first sight! He had taken you into an embrace and looked after you ever since! But you didn't belong to him, so he only had to watch from afar! Truly heartbreaking!"

Your hand twitched for the sword by your hip. You had beaten yourself up for the first meeting. Although you practised your greetings tailored to each pillar every day, the plan with the Mist Pillar didn't go as expected.

A few months ago, the world put on a jacket of snow. Winter was in full blossom with warm blood splattered against the cold ice. You kicked a demon down and tore its head away.

"Why are you here?" He catechised you as he deflected a swipe from a demon without looking at it.

"Greetings, Tokitou-sama! My crow summoned me here." Your feet tapped the ground like raindrops and slashed another weak demon's neck.

"No need. I can handle them by myself. You're not needed." His cloudy eyes finally returned to the demon and he decapitated it with such ease as if he didn't take it seriously before.

You huffed, threw your back to the floor and swerved your leg to knock two demons off their feet. "50 of them are still lurking around the village. I'll go east."

"I said you're not needed. Are you stupid?"

"Yes!" You yelled in frustration and unleashed a combination of slashes. Your legs propelled your in the air as you whipped your sword in the shape of a lily. With a final pierce to the last demon who charged at you, you continued, "This idiot can't understand a word you're saying! So I'm here to fight by your side."
