Chapter 14 - Bad things

"What the hell was she doing here?" I asked Nath.

"She just barged in!" He shrugged. I gave him a glare and headed to this kitchen. He just stood there playing with Evie. There was a glass of juice on the counter. It looked untouched.

"Nath.. whose drink it this?" I shouted. He came in and said, "Nobody's babe!"

"How long has it been out for? Can I drink it?"

"'Course hun! Its just been out a few mins I guess. Emily poured it for herself but didn't have the time to drink it"

"Ok!" I said as I drank it all in one go and Nathan just laughed at me..

"What? I'm tired!!" I giggled. But that giggle soon faded out when I felt uneasy on my throat.

"Are you alright?" Nathan asked.

"Yeah! Just a bit uncomfortable inside!" I said. But everything felt normal in a few minutes so I just shrugged it off.

"Ok. How was your talk with Eve?" He asked.

"Good. She said she would come over sometime to help me look at left over evidence and process it in the lab. Could be helpfull you know!" I said. He nodded along. I grabbed vodka from the fridge and gulped down a lot of it. Nathan just gave me a few stares.

"I'm tired ok???"

He just chuckled but that soon turned into a serious face. I ran to the toilet and puked my guts out. Nathan ran behind me and tried to help me up.

"Babe! You ok???" He asked worried. I couldn't talk because I could barely breathe. My face had turned into a dark shade of purple and it looked like I was about to die. It felt like my wind pipes were clogged and everything around me was making my head spin around. I felt my vision starting to blur and soon everything turned ..dark!

I woke up to the sight of a hospital! Nathan was sat beside me holding my hand. His face was soaked in tears.

"Nathan! You're crying?" I smiled weakly.

"You almost stopped breathing! You were this close to leaving me alone!" He cried.

"Oh.. I'm here now! Don't cry Nath!" I touched his cheek. He smiled weakly and wiped all the tears off.

"What happened?" I asked, as I couldn't remember anything.

"You collapsed at home! You just came back, drank a juice and vodka, and collapsed!"

"Oh.."

"I almost lost you! Don't do that to me again!" He squeezed my arm and the doctor walked in. His expression was worried.

"What's wrong?" Nathan asked.

"Elyssa has been poisoned!"

"WHAT?" Nathan asked, shocked.

"Yes. Her drink was poisoned! Did you take in alcohol shortly?" He asked me.

I nodded.

"Yes! That sped up the process. You are very fortunate to be alive Elyssa. People don't make it through!" He said.

"You both have to start being more cautious! This is not good! It's best you two moved away from that house!" He suggested and walked out to make my report ready.

"Emily...." I clinched my fist. I knew exactly what her intentions were. She obviously intended the drink towards Nathan, but I was the one who drank it. I'm actually glad I drank it, I wouldn't want anything to effect Nathan!

"What the fuck is her problem?" He asked angrily!

"She has issues! Possibly mental ones! I have to talk to Eve about this!" I told Nathan.

"Oh and Nath! Could you ask your mum to look after Evie for a short while! She's not safe anywhere around here!"

"Yeah! That's a good idea! I'll ask her to pick her up today!" He said as he grabbed his phone and dialed his mum.

Soon, I was discharged from the hospital. They had removed all the poison from my blood. Luckily it hadn't spread too much.

Nathan and I headed home to see Emily standing outside her house. She gave Nathan a huge grin and came to hug him. He pushed her away harshly.

"Stay away from Elyssa you bitch!" He shouted at her. I just stood there awkwardly.

"What have I done?" She asked innocently.

"Oh you know exactly what you've done! Just stay away from us Emily! Or I will call the cops!" He warned her and walked into the house. I was following him when I felt a huge tug on my arm. I let out a little scream of pain.

"You bitch!" She snarled.

Nathan noticed that and pushed her hand away from mine.

"What did I just tell you??? Are you mental?" He asked her, causing her eyes to tear up. Soon she was crying.

"This is all her fault Nathan!!! You have got to understand" She clung onto his shirt. She was again pushed away by Nathan.

"Don't you dare turn it on her!!" He spat as he pulled my hand and pulled me inside the house and slammed the door shut behind us.

My, I've never seen Nathan this mad before.

"You alright?" I asked him.

He nodded slightly and pulled me into a hug. I wrapped my arms around his waist and rested my head against his chest and sighed.
