Chapter 3 - Cold

The rain was pissing it down. But I had to go to the grocery store to get some stuff for the house and diapers for Evie. Nathan had gone out with some of his childhood friends. So Evie was all alone with Jay and Tom. I hope they act mature around my little baby. But knowing them, I knew that it was going to be hard.

Soon, I was done with shopping and I quickly rushed home. I walked into the house to seeing Evie happily giggling in Tom's arms. He threw her into the air slowly, and then kissed her forehead. All the lads were so lovely to Evie. I guess that's why she loved them so much. I wonder how they would feel when Nathan and I told them that we were moving out. I didn't want to do it alone, but I couldn't wait any longer. So I just thought I bring it out.

"Hey Thomas!" I said ruffling his hair.

"Hey El!" He said, still not taking his eyes and concentration off Evie.

"I have some news!"

"What is it?" He pretended to be bothered.

"Tom its quite serious, so I would like it if you bloody payed your attention to me!" I snapped. He had confusion written all over his face.

"I'm sorry El! I didn't mean to upset you!"

"Its ok Tom. So I wanted to tell you that.." I paused

"What is it El?"

"Nathan and I,.. Erm.. we..."

"Oh My God! Just fucking say it!!" He snapped.

"Nathan and I are moving out!" I said very quickly. Tom just stared at me in shock!

"What?" He whispered.

"Yeah! Nathan and I decided that we wanted to grow Evie in a big house somewhere far away from the city. I'm so sorry!" I patted his shoulder.

"I cannot believe it! Why would you do something like that? Are we bad for Evie?" He asked.

"No! Tom! No! It's just that, things have been getting quite serious! And we just want to be far away from the city! You can always visit Evie! She loves her uncles, and we're not going to stop you from seeing her. Ever! I promise!"

He just smiled in return.

"And another thing! Where's Kels?" I asked.

"She's partying with her friends! Why?"

"Uhm, Nathan and I wanted to ask you another thing!"

"What is it?"

"Uhm, I should probably be doing this when Nathan is around! But I'll just do it now! Do you and Kels want to be Evie's godparents?"

"OMG!" He squeeled like a little girl!

"Yes Yes Yes Elyssa!" He said kissing my cheek. It was good to see him so happy!

"Alright! I'm going to the toilet!" I said getting up. I left Evie with him, seeing that he was having such a fun time with her.

I washed my face and changed into comfier clothes. I stared at my long wavy brown hair. I was having a bad hair day so I just put it up in a messy bun. I looked at my face once again before heading out.

A few hours later, there were loud noises coming from the street. There was a car honking and some whistling. Soon there was a sound of the front door slamming shut and a few footsteps. I quickly headed down to observe the situation. I was so shocked to see Nathan. His eyes were red and tired and he couldn't even stand straight. He saw me and smirked. He stumbled to where I was standing and tried to kiss me. But I pushed his face away. I could smell a strong scent of alcohol in his breath.
