6: Kissing in the rain

Nini POV

On the way to the cafe we didn't talk at all. I had my head against the window. I started crying. When we got there I wiped my tears and Ricky opened my door for me. I mumbled a thank you.

As we were walking into the cafe our hands hit each other. We looked at each other and he stopped walking. I stopped and he wiped a tear off my cheek I didn't even know was there. He grabbed my hand as we went to sit down.

Instead of sitting across from me he sat next to me. He put his arm around me. I leaned into him but got reminded of what happened so I moved away.

"S-Sorry it j-just r-reminded me o-of-"

"Nini, it's fine. I understand." He scooted away from me a little. I grabbed his hand. I pulled him closer to me. He grabbed my waist and pulled me onto his lap. I put my head in his chest as he rubbed my back.

We sat like that for about an hour.

"I should probably go home. My dad is gonna wonder where I went."

"Yeah let's go." He grabbed my hand and we walked out. When we got outside we saw it was raining.

"Great, it's raining. Glad I don't have to walk home. Thank you."

"For what?"

"For being so nice to me and talking to me."

"Of course. How can I resist a pretty girl like you?" I looked at our hands, our fingers were interlocked. I grabbed his hand harder. He opened my side of the door but before I went in I turned to him. He gave me a confused look.

I grabbed the back of his neck then kissed him. He was shocked but kissed back. It was like a dream, kissing in the rain. We pulled back and he had a gigantic smile on his face. It made me giggle.

I got in the car and he went around to his side. he grabbed my hand while he was driving. He dropped me off a block from my house.

Ricky POV

When I dropped Nini off I kissed her hand and made her giggle. We said goodbye and I went home. I heard my parents fighting. When I went to the kitchen to get something to eat they must have heard me.

"Ricky? Can you come here?" My mom asked. I walked into the living room. They looked really mad at each other.

"What's up?"

"Um, I'm moving out."

"What? Why?"

"Your dad cheated on me. So I told him to leave."

"Dad? Is it true?"

"Yeah it is. I cheated on your mom, and I don't regret it."

"I can't believe you. Get out and never come back. I never want to see your face again." He walked out of the door and I started breaking down.

My mom came over to me and comforted me. I can't believe he did that.

Nini POV

When I got home my dad was waiting for me.

"Where were you? And why are you soaking wet."

"Well, 1, I was at a cafe because I got to leave school early and 2, it's raining outside."

"Why did you leave school early?"

"The principal didn't tell you?" He shook his head. "Well I was getting my books for class when some guy turned me around and started touching me. He also knew stuff about me not even my new friends know about."

"Like what?"

"He knew where we used to live, my full name, who my old friends were, who I live with, and he knew you were sick today. And he said since you were sick today he could do whatever he wanted so he wouldn't get kicked off the team. Then he started kissing my neck and was about to pull my shirt off when..."

"When what?"

"Um. Don't be mad."

"Why would I be mad?"

"Because the person who saved me."

"Who was it?"

"It was Ricky Bowen."

"That little shit. Did he do anything to you?"

"No he didn't. He saved me, took me to the principals office, and took me to a cafe to try and help me. And he did."

"Who was the boy, doing...stuff to you?"

"I don't know his name but Ricky does."

"Can you get him over here? I want to thank him and ask him who it was."

"Sure. Let me go call him." He nodded. I went up to my room and called Ricky.
