They had a funeral for her. So many people were there she touched so many hearts and changed so many live. There wasn't an eye anywhere that didn't have tears pooling out of it. After a while it was time for some people to speak. Of course the family said a few words but they also let the boys say things. Jonah was up first.
"I don't even know where to start, I had no idea that that girl I wrote notes to on a receipt would mean so much to me later. I once wrote I love you on a receipt but I was too scared to give it to her. I think I really fell for her when I got a papercut on my nose when we were in our little book club. She booped me. I know many loved her and I know I'm too late but I thought me and the others should say it anyway. Maybe she's listening from up above." Jonah barely got through it when he was done he sat down and broke down crying. Corbyn was next.
"I think I fell for her because she made my shoe less lonely. A matched pair, not perfect but perfect for me. That was the first day I ever met her. Of course I didn't fall that day. She also broke her back to save my shoes. She walked barefoot all day because of me. She slept on the floor so she could comfort me. She was always sacrificing herself for me." Corbyn takes a few seconds to breath before going on. "When we were camping I found a fake flower and gave it to her. She asked if love was like flowers. I told her for some maybe it last as long as a fake flower. But for others it's like a real flower, it dies in a week. Were like a fake flower. No matter what I do i'll never be able to get rid of her. After all, you made me less lonely."
"Well she fell for me first. Tripped over me literally before I even knew her name or saw her face. Maybe I fell when we called each other babe or maybe it was that sunrise shining in her eyes when we went out into the town. Maybe I fell every moment I spent with her." Zach says, the tears are flowing like a river but somehow he talks through them. "We had this little flirting thing we would do. I meant it but I don't know if she did. She always looked out for me, the "young" one. When I was crying under the stage hurt she found me. She came with a bag of popcorn and helped me." He takes a deep breath there's more he wants to say but he doesn't. He sits down and cries. Jack walked up next.
"She was so different one day she would scare us with the IT and the next she would buy us all onesies. We went through so much together. I was there when she got her first run in with the cops. I was running away in heels with her. I never would want to do that with anyone else. We rode skateboards in a hallway on a bus, a bus that she named." He takes a moment then goes on. you can tell there is some anger in his words. Not at her but at life, the very thing she ran out of. Or maybe she just lived too much and it caught up to her. "I started falling the first moment I saw her. She was so beautiful and so different. I once told her I was falling and she said she would catch me. She just wanted fun and adventure to live life to the fullest, I don't know if she did." They could tell he was getting mad and they didn't want him saying anything so Daniel stepped up.
"I never wanted to fall for her but I couldn't help it. When we danced It was so fun and freeing. She was so amazing and so different. I once tried to teach her how to play guitar. She was so bad I couldn't believe it. But it still intranst me. I don't know how it was possible. She always was doing the impossible. Making dreams come true and trying new things." Daniel says. "She made such funny but beautiful faces when she did my makeup. It's like I got to see who she was. The part of her that no every one sees. I felt special. But then I saw she never showed me what I couldn't see she showed what I wouldn't see until then. It's crazy that someone could do something for years and you never notice until you look, until you try."
Now it's Eben's turn. Her brother, the one who knew her best. The one that was always with her until she wasn't with him. But she would, could never really leave these boys. She held them close. From heaven she would watch over them as she told other angles her stories of wild adventures. They all would always think and see her in everything. Our loved ones never truly leave us. She will always be a part of all who knew her story. Who knew her happiness who knew her pain. Her life wasn't easy, bad things happened but she kept going, for as long as she could.
"We always did everything together, we were siblings after all. We both had crazy dreams but they weren't as crazy as we once though. There is so many things she never got to do and there's so many things she did do. She was going to finally get her dream of dancing. But that got cut short." Eben says he takes a moment to lean away from the microphone as a flood of new tears fall. "I believe there's a reason this happened, I want to believe that but I can't. You are still needed here, I still need you. Why did you have to go. Why were you taken from me. We were always inseparable, we still are, she will never leave me. I forever will have her here in my heart. Always tagging along. Alway saving me." He gets choked up by the tears and runs down the aisle and out the doors.
Ed was there, he couldn't use words so he sang. He sang Supermarket Flowers. The lyrics weren't meant for her but everyone could feel the meaning was meant for her.
They all were lost they had no idea what to do know. She wasn't there to tell the boys new lyrics or tell Ed how to fight for what he loves. But she was there with Eben. He could feel her. He went to the gas station and grabbed their favorite snacks and fake flowers. He drove to the middle of nowhere, and climbed onto the roof. He laid there and talked to her ghost. She loved so much it couldn't all go with her, so her love became a ghost that will always stay with them all. Watching over them and taking care of them all. They laid there tell day turned to night and then they stargased. There was a new star added to the night sky. It showed more than all the others, only to them.
