The Hospital Visit-Chapter 16

Everyone gathered around El, who was trying to find her dad to help with Billy.

"I don't understand." Richie whispered to me. "Can't you and Beverly do this? Why is it always El?"

"We can it's just that she is way better at that sorta thing than me and Bev. And plus every time we do it, the clown gets in our head instead of the person we are looking for."

"Oh... I didn't know." Richie said sadly. "I'm sorry."

"It's okay. Just be quiet and let her focus."

"I found him." El said to us.

"Where is he?"

"Woods."

"Woods? Are they bears!? Is he okay!?" Eddie asked her with concern.

"Eddie he's fine. Now shut the fuck so that she can do her thing." Richie snapped at him.

"He's with... Wills mom."

"My-my mom?" Will asked, leaning in.

"What are they doing?" Max asked her.

"Ill...annoy. They're going to Ill-annoy." El got interrupted by Mike's mom knocking on the door telling him it's breakfast time.

"NOT NOW MOM!" He yelled."Illinois? Illinois, like the state?" Mike asked her as she took off the cloth. "The state of Illinois?"

"Ill-annoy..."

"Ok come on let's get you cleaned up Max said hold out her hand. She and El went to the bathroom to clean off her bloody nose. They've been in there for a few minutes until Mike got impatient.

"Something's not right. I can't get Hopper off my back all summer, now all the sudden, he's hiking with wheels mom to Illinois?" He said pacing. "And Dustin's MIA, too?"

"Who's Dustin?" Beverly asked Will as we all watch Mike walk back and forth.

"He's our other friend. We haven't heard of him since the day he came back from camp.

"Oh."

"I mean, this can't be a coincidence."

"What does it matter?" Richie asked him. "The bottom line is, they're not here. It's up to us."

"Up to us to do what exactly?"

"Find Billy and stop him."

"Okay, yeah, that's a really nice sentiment, but even if El could find him again, and that's a pretty big if, then what?"

"We burn the shit out of him and make sure he doesn't escape this time."

"Okay, then what?"

"Then we win." I say, butting into their argument.

"No, see that's the problem. We don't. We don't win we got the Mind flayer out of Will before and he just came right back. We don't have to stop Billy, we have to stop the Mind flayer."

"And how to the hell do we do that?" Beverly asked annoyed at the bickering.

"I don't know."

"Maybe El does." Will suggested. Mike turned to the bathroom and stopped pacing.

"What are they still doing in there?"

"I don't know. Not very sanitary." Eddie told him as he cringed.

"Girls just like hanging out in Bathrooms." I explained.

"Why?"

"I mean... I don't know...we just do."
