The night seemed like a beautiful evening to patrol. It was a Saturday, the weather was warm, not a cloud in the sky.
I was swinging through queen's skyscrapers, stopping petty little crimes such as a bike thefts(a real one this time), a man attempting to steal a woman purse.
I also guided tourists to a hotel, a young couple radiating joy. All was well until a few men decided they would rob a high-end restaurant, very wealthy, with no security(which confused me immensel), making the robber's job easier than it should be.
If it weren't for me of course, they would've succeeded. The entire time I was unaware of an assassin badass spy, watching me from afar.
They started leaving the restaurant exiting from the roof, with large trash bags on their shoulders.
Not on my watch.
I flipped off the higher building to the roof of the restaurant, landing behind them with a small thud.
"Didn't your mom teach you stealing was wrong?" They simultaneously turned around growling at me. Glaring daggers into my soul.
One guy poorly aimed a small knife at me, launching a second later, It hit the ground next to me, making a clanking sound in the process. The guy's aim was trash.
"Such an excellent aim. That didn't even graze me. Maybe you should take a class to learn how?"I suggested.
The other man glared at me holding up two knives. I raised my hands in defence, smirking under my mask.
"What? did I make you guys mad" This went on for a few minutes. Them attacking me, me dodging retorting a sarcastic reply.
My spider-senses tingled, signalling someone was about to attack me. I ignored it, too preoccupied at prying the knife out of his hands.
I succeeded, throwing the knife in a secluded corner, webbing him to the ground along with the other three.
I was abruptly tackled to the ground by a man twice my size. I tried shaking loose, but felt a grip on my throat, choking me, making it quite difficult to use my superstrengh.
I wheezed, feeling my airways blocked off, hardly any air coming in. The other man, a quite tall one, walked over to me, twirling a weapon in his hands smirking.
"The itsy bitsy spider climbed up the water spout" I punched the man choking me, loosening his grip on my throat, still not enough to breathe normally. He sneered holding me down harder with his feet, wrapping his giant hands tighter around my throat even tighter, punching me in the face with his free hand.
I tried to shoot a web at the man in front of me, failing miserably. I started to see black spots, my eyes blurring and my eyes threatening to close. One thing repeated in my brain,
You can't breathe, you can't breathe, you can't breathe'
"Down came the rain and washed the spider out" The man looked absolutely psychotic, smiling evilly with a glint in his eye. The moonlight reflecting off the blade of his dagger.
"Bye-bye Spidey" I braced myself for the impact, wheezing in pain. I shut my eyes, when I heard a distant yet familiar voice from afar.
"wait!" I opened my eyes squinting at the figure in the corner, its shadow standing tall.
I recognized that faint Russian accent anywhere. Natasha! This gained the remaining men's attention looking at her with malice visible in their deathly dull eyes.
"You forgot the part about the sun"
"What do you mean?" The guy who held me in a death lock, laughed, not one bit intimidated. He should be.
She stepped out of the shadows, spinning her quite sharp knife in her hand, a hand on her hip.
They looked at her, not yet noticing she was the famous black widow, extraordinarily skilled with a knife.
" You know, out came the sun and dried up all the rain, and the itsy bitsy spider went up the spout again," She asked, focusing her attention from the knife the men. She held her hands out, one had a knife clutched in it, preparing to fight.
"Well here's the sun mother fucker"
Her movements were fluid, never missing a punch, dodging at the right time. She brought them down in thirty seconds flat.
I shot a web from the ground, pinning them in their spot.
"Peter, are you ok?" Her attitude completely did a 180, she was just a total badass fighting off those guys, and suddenly shes over here checking up on me, with a worried expression?
My throat was still raw from being chocked, so i just nodded, trying to croak a small thanks
"T-thanks N-nat" I grimaced at the sound of my voice, it sounded like a dying cat, not that Natasha cared.
I stood up, limping over to her, my hands hanging by my side like a deadweight. I embraced her tightly, inhaling her sweet aroma. She hugged me back, tense at first, but soon wrapped her arms tightly, in a warm hug, which was completely out of her zone, she never hugged anyone.
"Of course Kiddo, good thing I was watching you huh?"
"Wait, the whole time, everything?" I looked up at her, my eyes widened in shock, she couldn't have seen that, right?
"Yup, even when you crashed into that billboard." I groaned in embarrassment covering my probably now red cheeks.
"You must be sore huh?" She poked my stomach, right where I hit the billboard.
"Ahhh, ouch! Nattt stopp" I looked at her chuckling face, unamused.
"Yeah keep laughing. It was so funny." She laughed harder clutching her stomach. This was completely out of her character.
"It was." she wiped a fake tear, calming down at last.
"You better not tell anyone you saw me like this" She looked me dead in the eyes, serious, but still grinning. You should never mess with Natasha, The fierce Black widow.
"Fine but you better not tell anyone what happened, not even the billboard part."
"Deal"
We shook hands, making the trek back home, our little secret never to be shared.
