"Show yourself. Get up."
An unfamilliar yet bold voice rings outside of the campsite during a quick catnap... couldn't have been more than an hour, who on earth could that be? The groggy Handler quickly rushes out of the camp, stifling a yawn as she stumbled over the ridge of the icy wall to find... that strange Barioth from earlier? No no, that's not possible, monsters can't talk! Can they?
"Ah, you've woken? Good. I've been watching you human, and that damnable Hunter that's partnered with you. He was the one that did this."She motions to her scarred-over eye with a darknened claw, and almost snarls as her upper lip curls slightly before calming herself and returning to the previously neutral expression, while she glances around the area for a moment. Oh my god I guess some of them can!
"He's... not around is he? If not, I have a bit of a proposal: we study each other. You're the strangest human I've ever seen, and you need notes, correct? That way we both get something out of it." The Barioth looks towards the Handler as though attempting to read her mind through that icy-colored iris.
"Oh I um, no it's just me today... what... would that entail, exactly miss monster? You... won't eat me or anything like that will you? I'm too small to even be a side dish, honest!" The braided lady fidgets in an almost comically worried manner, making the monstrous woman smirk a little, amused by the reaction as she lowers the Handler down the ridge with her tail, helped by a nervous little jump from the human."As if I could just eat up such an interesting little thing, really now. You can come closer, despite how I look I won't bite... unless I have a reason to. And nothing too intrusive of course, I may be a monster but we have personal space too. Measure each other up - literally in your case, look real close, that kind of thing. No further and you can back out at any time if you get... overwhelmed." She teases lightly, trying to make things more comfortable as she sets the Handler down, who lands with a gentle thud.
"Oh! Of course, that sounds fine with me! I appreciate the respect for boundaries, even some humans don't get it, ugh. Will you... attack anything if they get near? Like a Banbaro or Beotedus? I can sorta hold my own myself! If... you count "holding your own" as getting away using items without the enemy tracking you down afterwards? Heh. Like these!"She playfully puts her hands on her hips in a joking manner before a slight chuckle, and begins showing the Slinger items she had amassed in her multitude of pockets, including a Smoke Bomb and a Flashfly that tried skittering onto the curious Barioth's nose before flying off.
"Aw man... hehe oh well, I have a few more in there, cause it never pays to go unprepared! That's what the others always tell me, but sometimes I'm just so excited to explore... so I end up going ahead and getting into trouble.""Well in this zone... the worst you'll find is the Wulg scampering about, maybe a Viper Kadachi or Fulgur Anjanath if you're especially unlucky. For the most part, this isn't too safe for a human- though you even snuck past me, so I guess you know your way around well enough." The Barioth woman shrugs, figuring the Handler already knew of the dangers and has kept safe all this time, and then gets a somewhat serious look on her uniquely-shaped face. "I'll fight if I have to though, especially a feral- they don't understand my roars either. You just yell out if you're using one of those flashbugs, kinda half-blind as it is. If you see your Hunter, yell out not to attack me if you can, or throw something at him. I personally don't care... and now that I think about it; guess you should call me something instead of just "miss monster" for communications, huh?
Well alright Flashfly, I'll let you give me a nickname- just make sure it's a good one."The Handler paces for a moment in thought, back and forth before her new monstrous acquaintance... aha, that should do nicely!
"What about... Seren? I've heard that it means "star" and I dunno, I thought it would be nice, y'know? I hope it's alright!"The Barioth thinks for a moment, mulling the name and the sound of it over in her head before giving a light nod.
"Yeah, sounds good enough to me. So it means star, huh... glad to see you think highly of me, guess I'm a superstar for a researcher as curious as you. So it's not all bad, at least you don't want to pick a fight, heh."
