A/N so this one is less of an imagine and more of a tester to see how this does because im thinking of turning this into a book but im not sure, if you enjoy it and think i should turn it into a book, let me know who i should do it with.
the one rule that we had to follow was no public displays of affection. you could talk to whoever you wanted to in public as long as it was someone of the same gender. i know what you're thinking, stupid right? but this was the governments way to keep us under control, except for when the next generation were to adapt to that rule. things always became harder when kids were involved since they're always excited for things that are new, and they also have a hard time listening.
you might be wondering why the opposite genders are not allowed to interact and its so that they can keep the population as low as possible, like less people having kids, the less people there are to control. it just makes them look like they can't handle a large group so the joke is on them. They truly don't realise the power of social media nowadays, literally anyone can talk to anyone. With school, we were all separated into gender specific classes, so boys together and the girls together and even though there were some pretty hot guys in my school a lot of the girls ended up coming out as a lesbian, it made it easier for them so good on them. for me however i was very much boysexual and only boysexual. Don't get me wrong, i love girls and i think that they're amazing, but they just don't hit the same way guys do.
waking up for school at six in the morning everyday was a nightmare, especially when you knew how everyday was going to go. A quick shower in the morning, face full of makeup to cover up the fact i was awake until ungodly hours of the morning and the uncomfortable uniform that we had to wear. A blue and black plaid skirt with some knee high socks and a white collar shirt, most of the girls wore their skirts to the point it looked like a belt and had shirts that were too small for them so their boobs looked 'bigger' as they liked to say, when in actual fact they looked like their clothes were too small, as they were. i made sure my skirt was just above my knee and my socks were pulled up, i always rolled my sleeved up on my shirt even though we weren't supposed to because it made us look 'messy' and 'unprofessional'
"you're going to be late for school if you don't hurry up"
"i'm just getting my shoes on jeez calm down"
I grabbed my chunky Doc Martens from my shoe rack and shoved them under my arm whilst grabbing my backpack with my free hand. I raced down to the car to make sure i got front seat and not my brother who is the most annoying person on the planet. even with our brothers the rules didn't change, we weren't allowed to talk to them in public. no idea why, that's just how it has always been.
But you see, with my generation, we didn't like to follow the rules, especially the stupid ones that literally served no purpose.
My generation were a whole other kind.
