You don't know me pt 2

' I should hop the fence. ' I repeated in my head til I finally persuaded myself. "

The next morning rolls around and I make my.way over to the fence, but liam doesn't show up. I wait 5 minutes, no liam. 10 minutes no liam. I wait and wait and wait, til finally lab workers come onto our yard charging at me!! I stood up to run but I was to late.

One of the workers had picked me.up from off the ground throwing me over their shoulder.
' they caught us!! 'I said to myself knowing what I was going in for...
My death... I was screaming and crying begging the boys in my area to help me but they all laughed and point their fingers making me look like a joke. I kicked and punched and scratched and pleaded.they didn't hurt me. Til I felt a sharp pain point into my side. I became dizzy and weak, uneasy and was out.

" Please wake up. "
A voice said but it was muffled out, sounded almost like mumbling. I opened my eyes to see liam crying over top of me his face in his hands. That was the first time I'd ever seen a boy cry... It was weird since I always thought boys couldn't cry...
I tried to move but everything hurt like pins and needles were stabbing me, but harder and sharper. I let out a small yelp but even that hurt. Liam moved his hands and looked at me with a huge smile or relief and wrapped his arms around me.
" YOUR ALIVE!! " We hugged for a solid 2 minutes as he cried on my shoulder, but I didn't mind, he was family. " I thought I lost you. " his breath was warm and soft. A feeling began to bloom inside of me that I never felt before. It was nice and made me feel fussy and comfortable.
" It's okay... "
He was officially family to me.
" what did they do you?! " He asked grabbing my face as he looked into my eyes with his lime green eyes.
" they- " I tried to tell him but I didn't remember...

" I-I don't know... " He was infuriated he looked at the obviously locked door and charged at it full force. Slamming his hands into the door screaming," WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?! "

' He's becoming overprotective... I'm 9 for heavens sake. ' I thought as I rolled my eyes at him.
" Liam it's fine. " I say trying to calm him down but it only made it worse.
His head spun around slowly and he had a look of disbelief and anger.

" You have no idea what these people are capable of H!! " he shouted walking towards me. " Liam listen- "
" No H!! You listen to me, I've seen things here you couldn't possibly begin to understand.
You don't know me!! I've seen close friends die in front of me!! I watched them kill my real sister!! I don't want to lose you as well. " His anger only got worse and worse.

Finally he gave up on punching a steel door and pressed his back against it slipping down he curled up into a ball. Still angry out of his mind he looked at the wall next to him and slammed his fist into it, leaving a dent. I remanded quiet and still as liam was having a moment.

His eyes had glowing flames in his eyes til he looked at me, I sat still as a statue curled up in a ball trying to stay as far away from him. His eyes widen as he looked down at his fists then back up.
" I- I'm a monster... " His hands covering his mouth after. He stood up slowly making his way over to me. He sat down quietly next to me. The de was silence for a bit, til we could hear buttons being pushed on the other side then the thick lock on the door unlocked as lab workers came in. " H112, times up... " they said with ZERO emotions as one grabbed one of my wrists and began dragging me away, which didn't sit well with Liam.
" YOU LET HER GO!! " He jumped at the worker dragging me. Punching them, kicking, clawing and biting til there was blood.
The worker dropped me and liam rushed down to help me by pulling on my arm as he ran us out of our cell and down the halls. " AFTER THEM! "
A male voice said from under a mask down the hall.
" Do you know how to defend yourself?! " liam yelled not looking back at me. " no... " I said along to shaking my head.

" Uh, just bite them then. " he said as we turned a corner to come face to face with another lab worker who seemed shocked we got out of the cells. " HEY KIDS!! " He yelled runing at us. With very few options I jump in front of liam and ran at the guy.
He threw his arms out at me and before he got a hold of my waist I bit his arm til he screamed like a little girl.

" good job. " Liam said grabbing my hand as other lab workers turned the corner. " Noa let's get out of here!! " he ran us off again but this time faster. We looked everywhere for an exit but there wasn't one in sight. Running out of energy we needed to stop for a breath. But not long after the workers caught up and cornered us..
" al-right- k-ids... Your suroun-ded. " The workers panted trying to catch their breaths. But I wasn't going down. Not without a fight. I jumped at one worker kicking and punching them while liam joined in. They tried to catch liam and I but nothing worked. Til finally a worker pulled out a taser and hit liam with it. They grabbed his wrists and held.him down then injecting him with something that would make him drowsy... " Liam!! " I said still fighting back.
" Stop it Hazel- " They had said my real name
" Hazel... " I said. " I like it! " Liam sat up with what energy he had left grabbing the taser and tasering the guards.
" Go on without me... Hazel. " I stared down at him as he collapsed on the floor. I widen my eyes and knelt down next to him. " Go... You gotta get out... " " I can't leave you liam!! " He put his hand on mine and gave me a huge smile. " My cell is down the hall... Room H12. Under my bed is my tin box * coughs * take it with you. "
" B-but liam... " " and don't open it... Til someone, a girl, comes looking for me... Promise. " Tears formed in his eyes and so did mine.
" Liam... I promise. " His smile settled and his head fell as his eyes fluttered closed. His hand lose it's grip and fell to the floor. " Li-liam... Liam... "
He was gone... Just like that. I did as he said and instead of looking for an exit I climbed the fence and ran off with his box. After running a bit I looked at his box and saw a metal key taped to the top and a small note next to it. " Guard it with your life... " And that's exactly what I did, I made it into a necklace and never took it off. "

Hazel finally finished her story that left me with my jaw dropped open and my eyes wider then ever before.
" That's why we need that key... " Hazel finished. " B-but you said liam died in your story... " She laughed a bit.
" Liam is liam and will always be full of surprises. " She got up and walked to her room. I remembered devin having some metal piece around his neck. " Hazel. Why does devin have a necklace? "
Her eyes widen and she sat back down with me.
" What do you mean? " she demanded, " Devin had a key necklace around his neck... " I said a bit worried if I should've opened my mouth. " Liam what are you doing? " She mumbled under her breath.

" you don't think- " I said, " Couldn't be that... " she said interrupting me,
" But what if... " I added and our eyes widen at the same time.

" Is liam working with Devin?! "
