She had been standing outside the bunkhouse for a while. She could hear Jed talking to heyes, reasoning with him. She had been apprehensive at first but she relaxed when she heard heyes laughed.

Here she stood now, hearing the two men laugh and joke with eachother. Her heart melted at the sound of heyes laugh. It sounded like music to her ears. She could picture him now, laughing, with that cute smile of his on his face. His dimples popping.

She knocked on the door.

"Can I come in?"

Heyes nodded towards Jed.

"Come in Maddy"

She walked in and stopped in the doorway. She didn't know how Hannibal would react. She could feel her heart breaking. But for Hannibal heyes, not her.

He felt a shadow fall upon him. He looked up. Maddy was in the doorway. He smiled apprehensively. He stood up and approached her.

"I'm so so sorry"

She held a finger to his lips. "Shh"

"No seriously. I'm so sorry" he repeated.

She didn't reply, instead she pulled him into a hug. He buried his face into the crook of his neck. She simply held him, stroking his back.

"I understand" she whispered.

He looked at her. "Understand what?"

"How you feel about being used" she pushed his head back on her shoulder.

They simply held each other, glad to be holding each other again. She continued to rub His back affectionately. She pulled his head slightly out of her shoulder and looked deep into his coffee coloured eyes. She raised her lips towards his...

He could see her moving closer towards him. He couldnt touch her again. He wouldn't. He couldn't. He would not kiss her. Her lips meant his. So much for the promise he had just made. They explored the other ones mouth with their tongue, Enjoying the soft warmth. A deep throaty chuckle sounded from his throat. His fingers wrapped tightly in her mass of auburn hair. Her hands were on either side of his waist.

Kid watched the Two love birds devour each other. He rolled his blue eyes and laid on his bed. He was glad everything was back to normal between them. He was also glad heyes was happy. When heyes was happy, he was happy. He looked towards them again, still entwined with each other. Honestly you would think they hadn't seen eachother for weeks not two hours. He cleared his throat loudly.

They jumped apart, both looking as guilty as the other.

"When you're quite finished" kid said.

"I better get back now. I promised katelin I'll help her do some chores" she kissed him on the lips and then glided out of the door.

"You know, your definently in love with her and she's just wrapped up in it as well" kid probed himself on one elbow and faced heyes who was now laying on the other bed. "You know you can't keep making her think she will have a life with you. You know she can't. She's so looped up in love and so are you that its obvious you both have feelings but think heyes, who you are. We are wanted men. She can't have a life with you"

Heyes didn't say anything. He knew who he was, but just once can't he just have a normal life?

"I'm sick of this kid, constantly having to throw away all our happiness. Its depressing. For once kid, can't we just have a normal life?"

"I know its frustrating but this is the price we have to pay" kid replied.
