He found heyes still in bed, reading a book. He looked up when he came through the door. Heyes smiled at him.

"You found Maddy?" He asked.

"Yes, I did"

He saw the look on kids face when he replied. He looked angry. He put his book down and climbed out of bed. He approached kid has he flopped down onto the chair.

"What happened?" Heyes asked.

No response.

"What happened kid?" He repeated.

"I'll tell you what happened!, maddys a spy, I saw her talking to some men. They said to her that their patience was wearing thin and they want them Boys where they want them."he stood up. "They meant us!"

Heyes felt like kid had slapped him. No, it can't be. Maddy would never use them.

Heyes started to shake his head.

"Yes heyes. She's a user. I saw her talking to some men. She was pleading with them. She's not what you think she is" kid replied, shaking with rage.

"I don't believe you kid" heyes shook his head. "She wouldn't"

"Well she is. Why else would she be talking to men who smell badly" he replied.

"Maybe they were asking for directions?" Heyes pointed out.

Kid laughed. "I don't think so. She could be working with them notice how quickly she knew we were Hannibal heyes and kid curry? we hadn't told her anything to suspect that" he said.

Heyes shook his head again. "I refuse to believe it. She's so sweet and innocent. She wouldn't do anything"

"Look at us heyes! We may have looked so sweet and innocent and look like people who won't do things bad but hey! We are the most wanted men in the west" he shouted.

"Look kid calm down. Maybe she was giving them directions like I said" heyes said. His colour had gone from his face. He felt weak at the knees.

"Oh so asking for directions is pleading 'is Abigail OK' yeah right. I don't think so" kid turned away.

Abigail , Abigail. Why did that name sound familiar. He suddenly gasped.

"Abigail's her sister!"

"Exactly, if they were asking for directions why would she ask if her sister was okay?" Kid replied.

"Maybe they were old friends?" Heyes replied.

"Why don't you just except the truth heyes!" Kid raised his voice again. "Why can't you see that your rescuer isn't some auburn haired sweet girl and is a user"

That pierced heyes right in the heart. He was speechless. Maddy wouldn't use him. Would she? He heard  movement and Maddy appeared in the doorway.

She had heard every word they had both said. She felt tears leak in her eyes. So Jed had told him now. She didn't want to lose either of them. But now she was about to. She stared at heyes, avoiding eyes contact with Jed. She walked to heyes and smiled.

"You heard everything didn't you?" He said flatly.

She nodded, she turned to Jed. "Look, it wasn't like that please"

He turned away from her. "Heyes, I've always thought the world of you. You always seemed so sensible but now, I'm kinda disappointed in you heyes" he turned away.

Ouch. That hit heyes right in the heart. He walked towards Jed, his legs felt like they were going to give out at any moment. He touched his arm.

"Jed? Please. It may just be some misunderstanding"
