"Look! They are coming over the hill!"

Maddy heard katelins shout. She was sitting in her bedroom, doing her sewing. Her head snapped up when she heard katelins cry. Could it be? She rushed to the window. Yes! It was them. She rushed down the stairs followed shortly by katelin. Each glad to finally have the presence of a man. She walked towards the gates and hugged herself tightly. They were riding slightly faster then usual. Maybe they just wanted to get back home? All the same It made her feel slightly uneasy.

They were coming closer towards the house. Maddy and katelin rushed out to meet them.

"You're back! It's only been one day!" Maddy shouted. But she didn't care. She was glad they were back.

They were approaching closer. She could see them more clearly. Something was terribly wrong. Dreadfully wrong. For one thing, one of the horses had no rider and second of all, Hannibal heyes was supporting an unconscious kid curry.

"Please help!" Heyes cried out towards the girls. He slid of the horse and pulled kid with him. They fell to the ground.

Maddy rushed over towards them. Heyes had kids head in his lap. He was holding his hand. Heyes was shaking terribly.

She knelt beside him and put her arm round his shoulders.

"What happened?"

"Men.Ambushed. Shot. Couldn't help" heyes slumbed to the floor in a dead faint.

Mclaggen sat on the grass. His filthy companions beside him.

"Why did you shoot!"he roared.

His men didn't look him in the face. They were afraid. They stared at each other. One brave soul finally spoke up.

"Sorry mclaggen but they had rode in without the girl.It was to good an opportunity to let pass"

Mclaggens face grew darker. The man finally lost his bravery and shrunk back to where he was sitting.

"No, we need to wait for that girl. She will bring them to us. Besides it seems she has a strong case of puppy love with hannibal heyes. So , let them come."he smiled , showing his rotten teeth. "We can prove to Hannibal heyes that the girl was using him. That would be such a scene!" He started to roar with laughter. The other men started to join in.

Mclaggen suddenly stopped. He eyed his commpanions. "So if you do see them, no shooting. Unless the girl is with them. Then shoot but only to injure." He raised his voice. "I have lots planned for them" he rubbed his hands together.

He stood up and began to pace. "One more thing I have to know. Did you hit either of them!?"

The men shared guilty looks and stared at the floor. Lobstin finally spoke up.

"I err.. think we hit one of them. I think it was curry"

Mclaggens glaze turned deadly. "Who shot him?"

"Well, it was hard to tell we were all shooting" Lobstin said.

"Enough! The next person who shoots at them , without me saying so will face the consequence!"

The men all looked at eachother, each with guilty looks as if they had been caught with their hand in a box of chocolates that werent meant to be open till Christmas.

"Yes mclaggen" they chorused.

Mclaggen was satified. Well not completely satified. He had been waiting ages for the girl and the boys. His patience was slowly slipping with the girl. He may 'accidently' just kill her family. For something to do. Oh she will he furious but it will be worth it. He cackled as he pictured the look on the girls face when her family die.
