Chapter 17

     (Y/N) POV

     "What are you doing here?" I looked in shock at the male in front of me.

     His familiar dark brown hair and green eyes made me freeze in my tracks.

     "Is that any way to greet someone who's come out of their way to watch you practice?"

     I couldn't respond. My voice was trapped and my feet were glued to the ground.

     We had come back from the training camp a few days ago and it was a week before the End of Summer so we decided to get some practice. Of course, I was the first one out here and he was there.

     In this instant, I felt like disappearing. I could feel my hands shaking and it was getting harder and harder to breathe.

     He sauntered over to me and I wanted to run but my legs wouldn't move me from my spot.

     He lifted my head with his fingers holding my chin and forced me to look at him.

     I winced under his touch.

     "You know I love you right?"

     I tried to look away from him but he held my head in place.

     He didn't love me. He was lying. He was manipulating me. Again.

     I gulped and I could feel the fear in my eyes. He saw the fear too and smirked in satisfaction.

     "Hey (Y/N)!" I heard Riku call my name.

     The male in front of me rolled his eyes with annoyance and let go of me before going to stand by a tree that had plenty of shade.

     "I'll be watching so run your best for me won't you?"

     Riku ran up to me and glanced at the male. "Is he a friend of yours (Y/N)?"

     I put a hand on his arm trying to keep from shaking but failing miserably. Riku looked at me in concern. 

     "Come on, let's stretch a little, ok?"

    In reality, I knew he wanted to put some distance between me and the male and I was grateful. We sat pretty far from the tree he was sitting under. I still had Riku's jacket in my grasp and my hand was still shaking.

     "Who is that guy (Y/N)?" I looked into his concerned and confused eyes.

    I just shook my head as I let go of Riku's jacket and placed my head in my hands. 

    I was trying not to cry and thankfully, the fear was keeping me from bawling. Why did he have to show up now? I was doing so well. My nightmares were becoming less frequent and I was mentally recovering.

    I was having trouble breathing and I felt a hand on my back, rubbing circles. I flinched at first but then saw that it was Riku and calmed down.

    "I want to go get Kuga or Ari but I don't want to leave you alone, especially since that guy is still here." 

     I wanted to thank Riku but my mouth refused to form words. How did he still have so much power over me?

     We sat there for a few minutes.

     "There they are. Kuga, Ari, over here!" I heard Riku yell to them but it sounded so distant.

     I heard rapid footsteps coming closer to us. I looked with my head still in my hands.

     Kyosuke was crouching down in front of me while Ari rushed to my side to put a hand on my shoulder. I looked at both of them and saw concern in their eyes.
