The dress which Seonghwa had left for you to wear wasn't necessarily one you would have chosen out of your own will. The ebony toned fabric only enhanced the pale elements of your skin as it wrapped around you, accentuating all of your features. There was a hole in the fabric right over your chest, the fabric just covering your nipples as the skin in between your breasts was exposed for all to see. The skirt of the dress parted at the sides, making it easier to walk in.

Your hair had been styled into a simple knot at the nape of your neck. Ruby red earrings which dangled from a silver chain had been threaded through your ears.

The fact that this was what you were expected to wear had you in a position where you couldn't help but feel quite uncomfortable. Especially knowing you were going to be seeing subjects under Seonghwa's rule.

You could only hope that they were nothing like their King. It was hard to hold a positive view of him when he kept so many secrets from you. Surely it couldn't be that difficult to just be honest. It would certainly make you feel like you had the ability to sleep soundly in his home.

The sudden knocking at your door pulled you from your thoughts. Folding your arms across your chest with the hopes of trying to conceal your bare skin, you call out for the person to enter. The door slowly opens to show Seonghwa hovering in the doorway.

He wears a suit in the darkest shades of black you had ever seen. Yet his shirt had the top few buttons undone which exposed a gap of his chest which, to your surprise, wasn't as pale as you had imagined for a vampire.

He has a small tear shaped gem on his cheek, right below his eye which tends to weep blood every now and then. The dark haired male notices your line of attention as he raises a hand to self-consciously touch the gem.

"It'll catch the blood as it falls," He explains to you in a gentle tone. "It will mean that I won't show any signs of weakness to my subjects. It has become a common trait of mine that I have a blood filled tear on my cheek."

Your eyes remain on where his finger gentle touches the object for only a moment longer before adjusting its focus to the floor.

"It isn't too late to back out, Y/N. You can stay here, it's safe," Seonghwa tries to sound assuring but it's clear by your scowl that his words aren't having their intended affect.

"So safe that the man who keeps calling me a prize was able to simply stroll inside," You snap at him, not bothering to dull the harsh tones of your phrasing. "I'm coming, besides it'll show me if you are a good King and just awful with your ability to deal with me or whether you're just all up awful."

"Which option would be the least disappointing?" This questions almost catches you off guard. Your eyes flicker upwards to meet with his which hide any emotions he could be feeling right now. His expression wasn't eligible to you.

"Honestly," The words come out in a breath. "I would be upset if you weren't a good King. Just because you mistreat me, doesn't mean that your people should suffer the same."

Seonghwa only nods as he hears you stating this. "If at anytime you get too frightened and wish to return here, just alert me okay?" He blinks out of sight before you can even open your mouth to respond.

Lowering your arms, you let out a heavy exhale. Without any further hesitation you walk out of your room and head downstairs.

"There is no time for snacks, Jongho," You hear San's voice coming from the kitchen. Your lips almost tug upwards immediately upon hearing it. "We have to go, Seonghwa has probably already opened shop."
