“Hey, doll!” Hei Ryung greeted her cousin, taking the empty pedicure chair next to Misa and settling herself comfortably. “What you got there?” She pointed to the pink binder on the other girl’s lap.
Misa smiled in greeting, then gently closed the binder to show her the cover. “My sisters made me a wedding planner,” she explained, holding it proudly. “It’s come in handy over the last several months.”
Hei Ryung carefully took it from her, and leafed through the pages. “Aw! So cute!” she gushed, reading snippets here and there. “So thoughtful!”
“I’ll let you borrow it when Siwon pops the questions,” Misa teased, then leaned away from the slap aimed for her arm.
“You’re going to jinx me!” Hei Ryung muttered, even as she blushed.
Misa giggled. “So not possible!” she countered. “Have you not noticed how much in love Wonnie is with you? I give him another six months before he proposes!”
“Kiki!” Hei Ryung screeched, then blushed again when she realized everyone in the salon was now staring.
“Where is everyone, by the way?” Misa asked, still giggling.
Her cousin embarrassedly cleared her throat. “Your mom and grandmother took your sisters to check on the ceremony preparations,” she answered. “They can’t just have anyone over seeing that, you know.” She cheekily winked. “And, I think the others are back there somewhere getting their hair done.” She jerked a thumb over her shoulder towards the back of the salon, where several hairdressing chairs were located, and a few stylists were moving around.
“Aren’t you supposed to be getting your hair done, too?”
Hei Ryung grinned. “I will in a minute,” she answered. “I just wanted to come and talk with you for awhile.” She raised her eyebrows a little.
Misa glanced down at her toes, which were being painted a soft pink, and admired the handiwork for a second. Her eyes returned to her cousin’s face. “Oh? About what?” she asked, although she had a sneaking suspicion about the topic.
“Tonight,” came the answer. Her grin grew wider.
“What about it?”
“Are you nervous?” Hei Ryung asked, dropping her voice to a whisper as she leaned closer.
Misa played dumb. “About marrying Kyuhyun?” she asked, innocently. “No, why?”
Hei Ryun sighed in exasperation. “Not that, dummy!” she exclaimed, lightly bopping her on the head. She lowered her voice again. “I meant after the ceremony!” she whispered almost conspiratorially.
