In the days following Kyuhyun's announcement over the radio, Misa found herself being held captive in the back of the bakery. And, although it wasn't her idea, she really didn't mind spending most of her time hidden away with the mixers and ovens.
Kyuhyun's fans were now coming out in full force, crowding the front of the bakery with their excited squeals and gestures. From the small peek she'd dared to take one day, Misa couldn't determine which ones were sane and which ones wanted to rip her head off. Truthfully, they all looked normal to her, but she knew that looks could be deceiving.
It was baffling to her as to why Kyuhyun's fans were acting the way that they were. If she was honest with herself, she'd expected some sort of reaction from them, but nothing like this. Although she was touched by the many gifts of well-wishes, exactly what was the point of crowding the bakery all day just for a glimpse of her or her fiancée? Kyuhyun's popularity had never been doubted in her head, but was it really deemed worthy of such a reaction from the fangirls?
On this particular day, Misa busied herself with prepping the pastries to be baked the next morning, which succeeded in taking her mind off of her present situation. From beyond the closed door that led to the front of the bakery, she could hear the muffled hum of voices. A small group of fangirls had arrived promptly at opening and parked themselves at a table in one of the corner tables. Since their arrival, they'd been munching on muffins and tea, hoping for a glance of the newly engaged couple.
The back door suddenly opened, and JooLi suddenly appeared. "It's a zoo out there!" she announced, coming into the back area. She stopped and dramatically leaned against the prep table. "My ears are never going to stop ringing!" she added, shaking her head.
Misa stopped what she was doing to look at her sister-in-law. "Are they squealing again?" she asked, cringing just a little. Just the other day, she'd had to go up front to meet with a customer for a custom cake, and nearly had her eardrums disintegrate from the high-pitched squeals from the fangirls that saw her. Fortunately, the customer had been understanding and simply laughed.
Joo Li giggled. "A little," she admitted, smiling, "But, they've moved on to asking me when you're getting married." She slyly glanced at the younger woman. "Which reminds me," she added. "Have you and Kyu set a date yet?"
"Honestly? We haven't even thought about it," Misa answered, shaking her head. "With everything that's been happening since we've gotten engaged, it seems like we never get a chance to talk." The fangirls, the promotions, everything seemed to be happening at once.
