The night after the problem at school, I scrubbed and scrubbed at the jacket with Toni and Veronica, even Uncle Fred tried to help us get it out, and not matter what, we couldn't get the dye out of the jacket, we got the words off, but not the dye. I cried myself to sleep that night, I was embarrassed and mad. It wasn't fair, it was the only thing left. Once Toni left she took the jacket with her to see if she could get more help from some of the other Serpents, to see about getting it out, I also got suspended for a couple days, for threatening Reggie and his goons. Now that it's been a couple days, and the whole incident was basically forgotten by everyone, except for the group who saw it happen and Reggie and his Bulldogs. Jughead was able to come back today, as well as I was. When I walked into the Student Lounge area, I saw Sweet Pea and Toni wearing school uniforms.
"Wow." I muttered, they both looked at me, Sweet Pea was wearing a turtleneck that covered his tattoo, the sleeves were rolled up, over top was a navy blue polo shirt with 'R' stitched into it. I shook my head chuckling. I took my stance next to Sweet Pea, I reached up and snapped the turtle neck against his neck, making him flinch away swatting his hand at me. "Awe, you look so formal now, its so weird." Toni was chuckling at us, as I looked him up and down eyeing the khaki pants they were wearing. "Shirts tucked in and everything."
"Shut up." He grumbled, his arm wrapped around my shoulders bringing me into his chest, blocking my vision with his chest. I laughed, slapping his chest to get him to let go of me. He let go of me but kept his arm over my shoulder. Toni handed me a cup of coffee.
"Mm, thank you." I say taking a sip of it. So we stood there talking. "Where's Fangs?"
"He got suspended because he wouldn't wear the uniform." Sweet Pea answered. I slowly nodded my head.
"What the hell?" I heard Jughead say, we all turned and looked at him. "Guys..." We walked towards him.
"Weatherbee gave them to us. Said he understood that not every Southside student had the means to purchase Riverdale High acceptable clothes. He thinks this will help us fit in." Toni explained, I pierced my lips rubbing Sweet Pea's back lightly with my hand.
"Where's Fogarty?" Jughead questioned.
"He wouldn't wear the uniform, so they got rid of him, suspended him." Sweet Pea answered.
"So our choices are conform or be cast out." Jughead said. I nodded my head lightly. "How are you holding up? After the whole thing?"
"I'm fine, Juggy. Just... Just upset. They ruined my father's jacket, I tried everything to get it out and nothing worked. Weatherbee replaced all my books and everything from the damage. But the pictures I had, I need make more copies of." I sighed quietly.
"We are still trying to get out, I promise, slowly but surely." Toni said. I nodded my head and said a quiet 'thank you' to her. Sweet Pea rubbed my back lightly.
