The next day, I was up in my room getting ready, I still hadn't gotten dressed, but I did my hair up in a messy bun, and I was in the middle of doing my makeup when a loud bang happened from my bedroom door, causing me to jump, my head poked out of the door way and seen Veronica and Archie standing there with sheepish smiles.
"Um, hello? What can I do for you?" I questioned as I stared at the pair.
"Uh, we were just checking to see how much longer you are going to take to get ready." Archie said. I raised an eyebrow.
"Well, as you can tell I'm in the middle of doing my makeup, but it shouldn't be too much longer now. But you guys can leave without me. I'll be fine. Besides it's day time, and I know my way around."
"Right, we will let you be." Archie said, quickly closing the door. I couldn't help but roll my eyes with a chuckle, I heard the front door open and close singling them leaving. I continued doing my makeup, which consisted of eyeliner, mascara, and a nude lip.
I got dressed, I pulled on the dark jean jacket that was my fathers, it was one of the only things I was able to grab before having to give and/or sell. It was oversized, almost 5x the size of me. My gold watch sat on my wrist, I looked at the time, before I decided I needed to head out. I walked into the kitchen and grabbed an apple and my backpack before heading my way to school to start my day. I got to the school, Veronica was standing by the door, obviously waiting for me to arrive. She walked me to my locker while we had a conversation.
"You know for that jacket being so big on you, you really really pull it off." Veronica said with a smile.
"Really?" I asked. "Because it almost looked trashy to me." I added laughing lightly.
"No, no. I'm serious. It's like your signature look, and I think it'd look double cute if you did your hair in those space buns you had yesterday." Veronica added. I smiled a little. I always had a hard time fitting in somewhere and really finding my own style. "And what's nice about jean jackets is that they go with anything. Now come on, we will be late to class if we don't hurry." Veronica started pushing me along, I chuckled as I began walking on my own, with my books in hand. We walked into our first class of the day, I took my seat which was behind Veronica.
Later on, Veronica, Betty, Kevin and I all sat in the Blue and Gold room, I sat on top of a desk next to Veronica as Betty talked to us.
"We can't let the terrorists win. We need to host an event at Pop's that reminds the town of simpler times. Like, a throwback to when the shoppe first opened its doors." Betty said.
"Betty, I like a good milkshake as much as any girl, and Pop's puts Serendipity 3's to shame. But, what is this hill to die on?" Veronica asked.
"Orange freezes with my mom and Polly after ballet. Chicken noodle soup with my dad after ice-skating... Grilled cheeses with Archie on the last day of summer vacation. Milkshakes upon milkshakes of just catching up with Anne when she comes to visit every few years." A smile made its way to my face as she spoke, I remember those times, every single time we went, laughing and giggling, then Jughead and Archie joining us later on. "It's where I met you for the first time, V. It's where I met you for the first time." She added looking at Kevin. "Also... Jug. He may lose his dad, but maybe I can save this one place for him... for all of us." There was a knock on the door before it opened.
