The next day at school everyone was on edge, I found Kevin, Betty and Veronica.
"Guys, what's going on?" I asked.
"Moose got shot last night." Kevin said. I briefly met Moose on my first day. "It was full-on Carrie. Midge covered in Moose's blood, screaming like a banshee. It was insane." Kevin explained, I had taken a seat on the other side of Betty, on the arm of the chair as Kevin talked.
"Kev, what were you even doing out there? You could've been shot, too." Archie said walking in.
"I was just night-jogging, you know, as one does and suddenly, I hear gunshots." Kevin explained.
"Can we at least agree now that there's a killer on the loose?" Archie questioned sitting down.
"With a terrible aim." Jughead added.
"Jughead, he murdered Ms. Grundy."
"Archie, we don't know that all three crimes are related." Betty chimed in.
"Guys, can we focus on what matters here. Midge and Moose are alive. Archie's dad survived. The new season of The MatchLerette starts tonight. You're all coming over to watch." Veronica said. I pierced my lips slightly.
"There's a shooter terrorizing our town, and you really want us to watch a gross reality dating show?" Jughead questioned.
"What I really want is for you guys to meet my dad, officially. And Ro to meet both my parents." Veronica said. I stood up from my seat feeling Betty shifting uncomfortably in the chair. I moved and stood next to Jughead. "Back in New York, my dad was always in his study. Doing very bad things as it turns out. I'm tired of closed doors. I need to know my dad's life and he needs to know mine."
"Well, we'll be there, V. Can't wait." Betty said, I nodded my head along with Betty.
"Hey, Andrews," A voice says, gaining Archie's and I's attention. "Oh, uh, Archie, we're going to the hospital to see Moose. You coming?" It was Reggie.
"Yeah, for sure. I'll see you tonight, Ronnie." Archie said.
"Oh, I better go too. I was supposed to meet my 'peer mentor' at Southside High like, half an hour ago." Jughead said, lightly pushing past me. I took a step back for him.
"Wait!" Betty started and she got up and talked with Jughead for a second. I took over Jughead's spot, I played with my hair, that was down today, twirling it around my finger as I did. Veronica was quick to pull me up and take me to class, just as I had sat down. I groaned at her and followed her through the halls. It was soon the end of the day, we were finally home. Archie was obsessing over Moose and Midge's attack last night. Archie said something about a gun.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, easy, okay? Ease up a minute. We're gonna let the cops do their job. 'Armed?' What the hell are you talking about? Archie, this is not the Wild West. We don't keep guns in this house." Fred said, I looked at Archie's face which was stone cold and serious. "Okay? So just cool it."
