The frozen flakes fell silently to the ground as the light shifted slowly from dark to dawn. The warmth of the sun hidden away behind the heavy clouds, as they continued to deposit their shipment of heavy snow upon the ground below. The sounds of a bunny rushing along the ground, their feet crunching the snow beneath them, was heard in the distance. Henri's ears twitched toward the sound of a bundle of snow falling to the ground. Still he waited, with baited breath. He scanned the area about him slowly, waiting for movement.
The sudden motion to his left caught his attention. He turned his head to investigate, a brief glimpse of motion urged him to follow. He shook his fur and adjusted his footing. His eyes continued to scan the environment. To his right a dark blur moved in the distance, egging him on. A low growl left his chest as he prepared to give chase, his nails digging deeply into the frozen earth beneath him.
The impact was sudden and the air in his lungs left him quickly. The dark red fur blurring before him as the pressure on his side relented. He moved quickly, bouncing back to his feet and regarding the female. Her red coat shined in the early light and the dark gray saddle allowed the snow to cling to eat gently. She had bounced from him and stood their in a bow. Her head low and her tail in the air, wagging heavily.
I thought you wanted to hunt. He teased her, returning the bow.
I'd rather play. She bounced toward him, her front paws pushing his side as her teeth grazed his muzzle.
He recoiled and retaliated, You asked for it. His mouth lulled open in a smile, as he bounced about her. He dove randomly at her feet and legs, snapping lightly at the fur.
She watched his motions slowly, taking in his actions before she moved. Her mouth was on his neck the moment his teeth grabbed her leg. They both lost their footing in the snow and tumbled to the ground. White dust hung in the air about them as they grabbed at each other. The growls were low and the snarls minimal, only moving their lips to not bit them. Teeth grabbed at fur and Jhera tugged at his gray coat.
The both stepped back for a moment and took heavy breaths, Jhera crawled toward him slowly. She moved to nuzzle his face and lick his jaw. The two had spent so much time pouring over information the last few weeks, that they hadn't taken time to be together. This was fun, but Henri saw in her eyes she wanted more.
Should we head back? It was a loaded question and he knew it. Jhera would let him take right here if he wanted.
She blinked slowly to him and rubbed her coat against his, her side wet from the melted snow. We probably should. Her eyes scanned his and then looked in the direction of the house. The smoke from the chimney loomed in the distance. They should be back today.
Henri licked her muzzle gently, watching her close her eyes at the affection he delivered. Nudging her head gently, he let his wold instincts take over. He circled her like she was prey. Jhera eyed him slowly, taking in his advances. His movements were swift, as he mounted her. She didn't fight him, giving herself to her Alpha fully. The movements were quick, but the hold on her neck is what set her body off. She growled low and deep as he penetrated her. They both finished quickly.
It was a quick roll in the snow to clean up and they were back on their feet.
Just a quick romp? Jhera chided him.
For now. His golden eyes winked to his mate, and watched as she rolled her eyes to him. His nipped at her rear and she growled to him. He smiled as he watched her run off toward their home. He hesitated for a moment, the sound of crunching in the distance, before giving chase.
Their arrival back at the house was full of laughter, as the pair dressed quickly on the porch and ran inside. Sweats and long sleeved shirts were not enough to ward off the chill that was covering the valley. Inside the fire roared in the family and Sebastian stood waiting their return.
