Engagement

Days after our visit with the Jackson is quite different, Abby keep on grumbling...
"I don't know what's wrong with him." Her eyebrow cease in annoyance.
"Maybe he's in a mood?" I guess.
"He's cold and distant, he barely speak to me, I didn't know what he's thinking!" She's still grumbling. Preggy moods are tough.
"C'mon Bby, don't stress yourself. It's not good for the baby." I coaxed her.
"Maybe he changed his mind, maybe he don't want to marry me anymore!"
"Hush! You know it's not true. Please calm down, huh? We need to fetch your parents." Still coaxing her.
She let out a loud sighed, then nod.
"Okay, let's get change huh? I'll be back in a minute." I kissed her on cheek.
She just nod at me and smile.

After dressing up, we left to fetch her parents. The whole drive she's in silence, I messaged mom that we'll be seeing them in the restau which we have the reservation.
Upon arrival, Jason and Myra already dressed and waiting for us. We don't waste time, we headed straight the restau.
Mom and dad already there, but Jace is no where to found, even Anthony. I messaged Anthony if were are they, he said that he's coming late due to some errands, and Jace is not with him. I started to worried, I felt that Abby's worried too. The older people didn't say a word but I know they're wondering too.
My phone ping, a message...
"Something came up in my house."
I felt goosebumps, I don't know how to tell them without making them worried. I took a deep breathe...
"Jace messaged me, I think we should come over to his place." I said trying to be calm.
All their faces turned into confusion, without saying a word he hurriedly went to his place. The whole drive is in tension, Abby's didn't say anything but I saw tears in her eyes. Upon arrival we all jumped off the car, walked fast to his door, I opened it...
The whole place is dark, when we all entered, lights starting to illuminate. The whole living room become cloak-and-sword. There are white and red balloons on the ceilings, red rose petals scattered all over the floor, candlelight dinner, sweet stuffs attached on the wall. I felt Abby's in wonder struck, she gasped by the sight.
Seconds later, Jace walk towards her, with bouquet of white roses, he reached for her hand to brought her in the middle. He gave her the flower, I saw Abby's tears tickled, she's about to hugged him but... he kneeled foot in the ground, she gasped...
"Baby, I'm sorry if I took things fast. I know we already planned our wedding but I haven't asked you this. I want to make things right, the way it should be. I know that being with me brought you so much pain and head ache, but I'm grateful when you came... back into my life. You helped me fix the broken pieces of my heart. You helped me escape from darkness, you led me to the right path. And I want to make it up to you, I want to prove you how much I love you and our child. I want to spend the rest of our lives together. Would you gave me the honoured of being your man? Being a good father to our child? I promise to be a better man...
Baby will you marry me?" Jace said gentle with full of sincerity.
I saw Abby's tears burst more, she remain silent for seconds...
"Yes! Of course I'll marry you gaffer!" She said cheerful. Jace smiled at her, reached for her hand and put the diamond ring on her finger.
I saw happiness in their eyes, Jace stood up and embrace her in a tight hug, they remain still for seconds. We are just watching the lovebirds with smiles on our faces.

"Dinner's ready."
Anthony broke the silence, oh he's here...
We all headed to the dinning, the lovebirds looked extremely happy, the older people looked relieved...
"Running some errands huh?" I turned to Anthony who's smirking the whole time.
"This jerk kidnap me." He chuckled.
"You cooked all of this?" I asked.
"Yeah, he help me." He smirked.
"You help him cooked Jace?" I turned to him.
"Of course! I watch him cooking." He chuckled.
"Hopeless!" I rolled eyes on him.
"Look who's saying." He smirked.
I just glared at him, everyone laughed on us.
The whole dinner is getting more and more livelier. I saw everyone's genuine smile, I felt happiness. It's the life I wanted...
"Are you happy?" Anthony whispered to me.
"Yes, absolutely." I said sincere.
"There's a lot more to come." He smiled.
I just nod at him, we stare into each and smiled.
"Don't steal our moments!" Jace smirked interrupting us.
"Feel sorry for you Big Man, you need to get used to it." I said playful. He just smirked at me.
"Pardon our kids, they really love each other." Mom said cheerful that makes everyone chuckled.

Contentment is, after all, simply refined indolence. Being happy with what we have is something variant, it brought us different feelings. Life is tough, but you have all the capacity to control it, nothing is hard if we worked on it, make it easy and enjoy it.
Life is a continous learning experience, don't settle with what you knew, explore things that will help you grow...
