I open the door to our compartment in the back and my friends immediately stop talking. I have a feeling they were talking about me, but I won't say anything.

I sit down in the seat next to Marls and Alice. "Don't you want to know who head boy is?" I look around, confused. "We already know!" Dorcas says smiling widely. "You do?" I ask. "Yeah, Sirius told us." Marls giggles and I look at her, confused. She shakes her head and looks away. I'll have to ask her about that at a later time.

"So! You and James!" Mary squeals with happiness. Mary has always thought that Pot- James and I would end up together and I always rejected that idea. That would be crazy. I glare at Mary for a moment and then she bursts out laughing. So do I. And then the whole group is laughing.

It's so nice to be together again. We talk for a while and I eventually fall asleep on Marls' shoulder. "Hey Lily. We're almost there and we have to get changed." I sit up slowly and rub the sleep out of my eyes. We all get out clothes and robes out of our bags and get changed.

Finally the train pulls to a stop and we all head off the train together, dragging our heavy trunks along. We walk towards the carriages and I still think it's weird that I can't see the thestrals. Although I am glad that I can't see them.

We all climb in and I sit next to Marls and Dorcas. "So you and James." Marls smirks at me. "Ha! That's never going to happen. We're just friends." I say. "So you and Sirius." "What on earth do you mean?" Marls says, feigning innocence. "I saw you giggling about Sirius." I punch her playfully on the arm. "There is nothing going on between us." "Sure there isn't" I say and roll my eyes.

Just then, Sirius, James, Peter, and Remus climb into our carriage. "Hello everyone. Lily." James smiles widely. Unfortunately, Marls and Mary notice and keep making faces and poking me in the arm. "Quit it!" I hiss at them. They both snicker at me.

James sighs. "It's so sad that this is our last year. Padfoot, I'm sure the teachers will be sad to see us go." Padfoot laughs and nods his head in agreement. I shake my head and stare at the castle.

"Lily, you don't think the teachers will miss us?" James turns to me and raises an eyebrow. I laugh. "Oh, they'll miss us but they won't miss you two. You have caused way too much trouble." I say and Remus looks up from his book momentarily to nod. "Us? Cause trouble? We would never!" Sirius says in mock astonishment. Peter looks up, genuinely looking confused and James notices."Peter it's called sarcasm." Peter turns slightly red and turns away.

"But, Lily, some of the teachers will miss us. I mean maybe not Dumbledore." James says. "Or Flitwick." Sirius adds. "Or Sprout." "Or Slughorn." "Or Kettleburn." "Or Binns." They go back and forth. "But Minnie will miss us for sure." Sirius says. "Yeah. See Lily?" James says, looking straight at me and grinning slightly. I roll my eyes. "You came up with one teacher who you think will miss you. Also, Professor McGonagall will not miss you! You guys annoyed her so much." "Well she still loves us anyway." Sirius says with a grin, and I notice he's looking right at Marls.

I turn to Marls and give her a look. She shakes her head and turns away but her face is slightly red. And this is a big deal because Marls' face never gets red.

We all talk for a little while and we finally arrive at the castle. It towers over us and it's breathtaking to see it from this view. We ride up the passage to the front doors and take all of our bags out.

Mine is especially heavy because I packed lots and lots of books. I'm having trouble getting it off the carriage and James walks over to me. "Do you need help?" He asks. I nod.

That was nice of him. Which is weird. James Potter is not nice. I notice myself looking at his arms; he's pretty strong. Why am I looking at his arms? What the heck is wrong with me? Whatever. "Thanks." He passes me my bag and I turn and walk away without another word. We leave our trunks with the house elves and we walk into the Great Hall.
