It is now December 31st, New Years Eve! I've written countless letters to James and a few to Dorcas, Mary, and Alice. I sent them pictures of the party and they wrote back lengthy letters about the going ons about where they were. We don't really do much on New Years; there isn't much to do. For the whole day, we mostly hang around the house, play games, and eat lots of food.

Finally, it's 11:50 and everyone, me, Marls, her brothers, and her parents, crowd around the table. Melissa set the table with snacks and we all sit and talk until 11:58 when Michael pours champagne into eight glasses. When the clock strikes 12:00, and the bells echo around the city, we all drink. Marls and I go up to her room and change into pajamas. We're both not really tired so we play wizard chess a few times and I win once, but lose the other three times. At around one, we play exploding snap for a while and we eventually get in bed.

"I need to tell you something." I say, getting under the covers. Marls gasps, "Did you shag?" 'Marls! No! And stop asking about that!" I throw a pillow at her head. "All right all right. So what did you do?" She asks eagerly. "Well....... I may or may not have told James I love him." I say in a small voice. Marls stares at me in complete shock. "You did??!!" "She! But yes." I say, hoping nobody can hear us. She tackles me in a hug. "Oh! My! Merlin! I'm so happy for you!" I push her off me. "Wow, relax." I say, giggling. "Aw, I'm so happy!" She shrieks and falls backwards onto her stack of pillows. "Oh! I need to show you what he got me!" I jump off the bed and get the little box with the necklace. "Wow, it's so pretty! And are those diamonds?!" She squeals as I nod my head. "You guys are going to get married, I just know it!" I playfully smack her arm and she laughs. "And you'll have two kids and they will be the cutest things on the planet. And you have to have a cat and a dog." Marls says, staring at the ceiling. "Well thanks for planning out my entire life." I laugh. "No problem. Oh, and Sirius and I will live directly across the street from you and James and I will be the godmother to your children." "Does Sirius know about this plan?" I ask, grinning. "Well not yet. But you should tell James about what your life is going to be like." "Ha! No thanks." I say sighing. "Ok, and on that note, goodnight!" Marls turns around and within moments is asleep. I stay up a little longer, just thinking about James...

Today is the day we finally go back to Hogwarts! I wake up at 7, because the train leaves at 9. I finish packing up the rest of my stuff, including my two new dresses. Maybe we'll have a dance or something and I could wear them again. I don't have any other use for them.

We eat a small breakfast and at 8:30, Melissa apparates me, Marls, and Max. I send a quick letter to my parents, just saying that we're getting ready to go and I love and miss them.

We arrive at King's Cross Station and walk through the barrier to Platform 9 3/4 . I see James and Sirius talking quietly together. I walk up behind them and throw my arms around James. "Hey!" He says and gives me a quick kiss. "How was the rest of your holiday?" "It was fun! Marls has some cool muggle stores near her house and we got to play a lot of games with her brothers." I exclaim happily. He smiles and helps me board my tunks onto the train. We meet up with Dorcas, Marls, and Sirius in our regular compartment and take a seat. James places his head on my lap and I play with his messy hair, and we all talk and catch up for a while. At around 10, I shout, "Oh! James!" He sits up immediately. "We have to meet with the prefects now. Just a check up. Professor Dumbledore sent me an owl."

James and I leave and walk into the prefects compartment all the way at the front of the train. We quickly discuss how they are coping with prefect duties and talk about their new schedules for patrolling.

Once they all leave, I turn to James. "Ok, we're supposed to take up the patrols every weekend now, which is annoying. Also, Professor Dumbledore mentioned that we're going to be planning some sort of event." James nods and then in a flash, his lips are on mine. I pull away for a moment. "Well that was sudden." He shrugs and proceeds to kiss me.

The compartment door slams open. "Get off her Potter." A familiar voice snarls from the doorway. Severus. "No, I don't want him to." I smirk at him and then kiss James again. "Lily please. Can I just talk to you for a moment." He begs, glaring at James in disgust. "No. She doesn't want to talk to you." James sneers at Severus and pulls out his wand. "James. No." I say in a warning voice. "It's fine. We can talk, but James, just stay right outside." James shoots me a look and walks out, standing just outside the closed door. "What do you want?" I glare at Severus. "Please, can't we be friends? I really miss having you and it's been really hard for me." He pleads. I roll my eyes. "First off, no we can't be friends. You chose your friends and I chose mine. Second, you should have thought about that before you called me mudblood and started spending time with those terrible Slytherins." 'But-" "Let me finish! Third, I don't care how difficult it is for you. Don't you ever think about anyone but yourself? It's difficult for me! I have to deal with stares from everyone in the school just because I'm a filthy mudblood. I'm not giving you anymore chances. I gave you so many opportunities to change and you never did." Without waiting for his response, I leave the compartment, slamming the door shut. "Are you ok?" James asks worriedly. "I'm fine. Can we go back now?" James nods and takes my hand comfortingly as we walk back.

"You ok?" Marls asks as we enter. I nod and sit down next to James. I lean my head against his arm and take a quick nap.

"The feast is now over and you may leave. Except, Ms. Evans and Mr. Potter. I'd like to see you in my office." Professor Dumbledore says as students file out of the Great Hall.

James and I race each other up the stairs to his office, and of course he wins. Professor Dumbledore is waiting outside his office for us, and when he sees us approaching, says the password and lets us in.

He offers us a seat and we take it. "Hello Ms. Evans and Mr. Potter." He says, beaming at us. "I have some things I'd like to discuss with you two. FIrst you're both aware of the new patrolling days?" We both nod and he continues. "Next, I need you to decide on a date for the next Hogsmead trip. Thirdly, there is going to be a Spring Dance that you will both need to plan. And lastly, good luck on your next quidditch match James." "Thank you sir." "Well that is all. You may go to your rooms now." Professor Dumbledore smiles at us and we turn and walk out. We walk to our rooms and spend the time reading together and talking.

A/N This chapter is kind of like a filler. It's just some short important parts. I've already started the chapter I'm going to post tomorrow, and it's pretty interesting if I do say so myself. :) I hope you enjoyed! Please vote!
