Finally, some peace.

I took my chair outside and sat down to enjoy the sun warmth.

Wrong.

Mom warned me not to stay inside the shop but outside to attract customers.

Me on the other hand, I loved staying inside but what can I do, mom's word stands.

I relax on the chair as I started reflecting on his words.

Car owner.

Not that I feel anything for him.

He's rude, arrogant, pompous, and proud.

So it's kind of 'hate at first sight.'

I laughed at that thought.

He asked me for my number and I refused to give him.

Not playing the 'hard to get' type but I didn't give him the number because I didn't have a phone.

Alright.

Laugh.

Yes, I'm sixteen years and I don't have even the least phone to answer calls.

But we haven't even eaten well talk more about buying a phone for little 'me.'

As I thought about all the things I didn't have, my mom arrived.

Smiling at her as she got down from the tricycle and paid the driver.

She smiled. "Amara, how are you."

Yes, my parents call me by my native name including some other people but I like my English name better.

"Mom, I'm fine," I replied, "what's up."

I'm close with my mom like this, we all behave like sisters.

"Hope sales are going fine?"

I laughed.

Typical mom's daily question.

"Yes," I replied just as 'car owner' drove past the shop and honked.

"Ha!" mom exclaimed.

Just wait for it...

"Who is that a new customer?" mom asked.

Nothing can escape mom. She notices every little thing.

"He's car owner," I smirked.

"Car owner?" mom's confused.

"Mummy, sit down I have gist".

We spend the next couple of hours gossiping.
I told her everything that transpired between me and the guy.
Mom laughed and waved it off as another 'riff-raff' that's seeking my attention and what's in between my legs.

No sooner have we concluded our discussion when someone entered the shop.

A young boy.

"Nwa m, what do you want to buy?" my mom asked in her friendly business tone.

"Mummy, good evening. I'm looking for Nuella," he politely replied.

"Why, what happened?" mom asked defensively.

"Nothing, ma," the boy smiled as he stared at me, "my boss asked me to give something to her."

"What is that and which boss?" My ever detective mother questioned.

Yessssss!!!!. Mom's finally made the boy uncomfortable. How dare he walk into this shop with such confidence.
I did a happy dance inside before I stood up to intervene.

The boy looked ready to bolt now from mom's constant questions.

"That your boss did his leg break for him to bring it here? Is he the only one that has boys? Oya na go and tell him her girl will come and collect it..."

I quickly interrupted my mom.

"Relax mom, I know who sent him."

"Car owner?." she raised her brows.

Nodding, I walked up to the boy and collected the piece of paper from him.

"Thanks, aunty."

The boy breathed a sigh of relief and left.

"That car owner is stupid, he can't come here himself. Let him just pray he doesn't come face to face with me else..."

I ignored mom's ranting as I opened the paper and I saw...
