Song of the Chapter- Wrong Direction by Hailee SteinfeldI wipe my eyes from all of the laughter that is going on, my lungs burning as I try to speak but can't. Monica is practically gripping onto the couch for dear life. "I'm just saying his game is like, really good," Tessie cackles while nudging me with her arm, winking at me.
I pull away from her and try to choke out words between laughter, "Oh god Tessie, shut up."
Monica speaks up again, still slightly out of breath from giggling. "I mean, he doesn't really need to do that, I mean with, you know."
"Huh, you know I never thought of that," Tessie stops her laughter as she ponders in thought with a devilish grin on her face.
I speak up before she starts thinking about the bad idea too much, "Don't give her any ideas. We don't need any accidents any time soon."
"I'll be fine," Tessie reassures me, "It's nearly impossible for that to happen. Might as well use it to my advantage."
I roll my eyes at her as I grab the wine glass nearby, "Okay, whatever, but be safe."
"Don't worry about me, how about you and your lover boy," she prods at me, wiggling her eyebrows. "You're the one who should be staying safe."
My face begins to flush with heat. "We haven't even done that or anything close to it," I confess out loud as I mess with one of Tessie's many decorative pillows. My face continues to heat up as the memories from last week came into mind, even though it wasn't much, it was the closest to that.
"You haven't," Monica's voice rings out as she inquiries me.
"Nope."
Tessie speaks up, her face contorted in a confused state, "Why? He's literally a fucking babe. No offense, I'm not hitting on your boyfriend, just stating the obvious."
My stomach sinks and develops a pit at her words. All the horrible and gut wrenching memories come flooding back that I've tried to push away. "I'm just not ready yet. I wanna wait a bit more until I am," I say sorrowful, the guilt and anger at myself returning as I remember what I did.
Monica chimes in cheerfully, "That makes sense. I mean, Luke was your first and like only right?"
"Yep, basically," I reply to them.
Tessie lets out a long breath. "No offense, but like I can't imagine having sex with only one guy for most of my life. That's like crazy," she says as she kinda chuckles.
Monica begins to laugh before finally speaking up, "And I can't even imagine having sex. Nonetheless with a guy."
We all eye each other before bursting out in a fit of ugly laughs and giggles. Tessie try to speak up but is clearly struggling, "Oh my fucking god, half the time I forget you're Ace because you always talk about this stuff with us."
Monica shakes her head at us slightly while grinning, "It's fine. I get it. I sure as hell don't look like your stereotypical Lesbian. And I'm down talking about it, I get joking around it's just not for me. I'm not like, interested in it. I just have no desire for sex."
"Funny how we're all best friends and like polar opposites in stuff like this," Tessie announces as she adjusts a blanket over herself.
We all nod at her statement. Monica looks over at me before questioning me, "Hey so how're things with Niall? Like it's weird that you just got a boyfriend and now he had to leave."
"I'm fine," I answer back cooly, "Niall's work comes first and so does mine. He'll be back in another week and a half once he's done with all his interviews. He like just finished one in Toronto which is fun. I mean, he's been gone for almost a week but we call and FaceTime a lot." My mouth automatically turns up into a grin as I remember all the great calls we've had recently. "Plus I'm going to my parents for Thanksgiving, so that'll preoccupy me."
