Author's Note ***
Hey guys, so due to the fact this book is set in an alternate reality where One Direction didn't exist, I had to alter some information for it to fit properly. Niall Horan is still as himself but just to where he was always a solo artist. Also throughout this book I will try my very hardest to line up the timeline properly but there may be some small details here and there that may be changed. Please don't rip my head off for it. Anyways hope you enjoy this chapter.Song of the Chapter- I Should Have Kissed You by One Direction
(Song linked at the top like always)Niall's POV
Shit. She cannot find out like this. Before I knew it, I was grabbing onto Toni's arm and dragging her behind some bookshelves nearby.
"Ah, what the hell was that Niall?" Toni questioned as she gave me a frustrated look.
Think Niall. Think quick.
"There's um, there's some people out there, that I don't want to talk to and I'm afraid they'd see me," I nervously chuckled trying to save myself.
Toni eyed me then began to peak around the bookshelf. Afraid of being caught, I quickly grabbed Toni's waist and lead her away from being seen. She spun around quickly and gave me a puzzled look.
"Why don't you want me seeing them? Or is it that you don't want to be seen with me," she asked almost offendedly as she crossed her arms.
Dear god no, this was the last thing I wanted. "No of course not Toni. It's just, it's confusing. They're not the friendliest you could say, don't read too much into it Ton. Trust me, I'll explain later I promise, I just don't want to be seen right now."
Toni gave a suspicious look then sighed,"Alrighty, but I'm sad that I didn't get to bring my latte over here. It was really good but I won't go over there for your sake."
I could feel my face start to light up a bit, she actually did care.
"Well to make it up for you, I'll buy you another coffee on a day where we aren't bothered," I spoke as I messed with a small anchor that was on the bookshelf.
Toni perked up at my words and started messing with some of the books,"Wait, another day? Are you saying you'd wanna do this again?"
I chuckled and turned to Toni, looking down into her blue eyes. "Why wouldn't I? I'd love to do a proper date that's planned out and where we can be in peace."
Toni just giggled and looked away then back up at me,"I'd love to Ni, I don't have work on Thursdays and Sundays, and I get off early on Saturdays."
"Gotcha darlin'," I teased at her.
Toni casually strolled around but kept peering around to be careful of being caught. "So Niall, since you're so mysterious about your job and who those people are, tell me about yourself. What's your hobbies."
I drummed my hands on the bookshelf," Um well, I mean I like to golf, like a lot. I play the guitar and like to sing. But the most important thing, is that I'm a foodie."
Toni chuckled,"Oh wow, you're a singer, you'll have to sing for me one day."
I nervously agreed trying to not be suspicious,"Yeah, one day." God why'd I have to mention singing.
Toni's POV
"Hey Ton I'm gonna check with the cashier and see if those people are gone, I'll be right back," Niall reassured as he gestured to the lady up front.
I simply nodded then got back to fiddling with the magazine in my hand. It wasn't like I was trying to eavesdrop on their conversation but I did hear the lady mention something something being around the back of the store. Niall and the lady soon walked over cautiously.
