It's been 1 month since our wedding and I was still trying to forget about what happened. I was incredibly angry, but I was good at hiding it. Mario was the best. He made sure I was okay at all times. His main priority was the health, safety, happiness, and wellbeing of Mateo and I. I loved this man with everything in me.
Today, Mario took us on a little picnic in the park. I appreciated it because I needed the fresh air. Since the wedding disaster, I've only been out of the house twice. I suffer from social anxiety but I'm working on it. I also suffered from bipolar depression but when I met Mario, he helped me get through it.
"Look at the view! Isn't it beautiful?" I said. We were right by a beautiful lake. Mario looked at me and smiled. "You're my favorite view." He tells me. I've been in a relationship with this man, had a baby with him, and married him and yet he somehow still gave me butterflies. He made me feel like I was in high school again.
Mateo was getting cranky so we had to cut our little picnic short. "Okay, baby. We're going home now." I tell him, putting him in his car seat. Finally getting him all strapped in, I kissed him on the nose and gently shut the car door. As soon as I got in the passenger seat, my phone rang.
"Hello?" I said. "Hey, Princess! What're you doing?" Ariel asked. "Hi, Ari. We're actually leaving the park. We had a cute little picnic for Mateo." I tell her. "That's actually fucking adorable! So y'all are on your way home?" My big sister said. "Yeah, why wassup?" I asked. "I have a little surprise for you and Mario. It's waiting in your driveway." Ariel says.

"Is she serious? She bought us a car!" I said

"Is she serious? She bought us a car!" I said. I stood there in the driveway, starting at the brand new car with a red bow on the top. I looked at Mario who was just as shocked as I was. He was holding our 10 month old son. There was a note attached to the windshield.

My Ana Banana,

I know you don't like gifts but you deserve this. You've been through so much these past couple years and I've seen how far you've come. You're such a beautiful soul. I've never met anybody so genuine, caring, and kind. You're an amazing sister, wife, and mother. I'm so proud of you. Keep going. You got this. We love you ❤️

Love always,
  Ari

I wanted to cry tears of joy. This was the sweetest thing anybody has ever done for me. I was at a loss of words. Ariel has done a lot of great things for me growing up, but this took the cake. I had to make it up to her somehow.
"Did you like the car?" Ari asked me. "I love it, I'm still crying!" I said, wiping my eyes. "Aw, I'm glad you like it. You really deserve it! And don't worry, I didn't take any pictures or videos. I know you don't like any of that stuff." My big sister said to me. I smiled at her sweetly. "I appreciate it." I said.
I felt like I owed Ariel the world. Growing up, she was my mother. Although she's only 4 years older than me, she still was the only mother figure that I had. Ariel basically raised me and she was a child herself. I was thankful for her.
"Ariel, I really owe you so much!" I said. "Stop, you owe me nothing! I'm your big sister and that's what I'm here for." Ari says to me. "You didn't have to buy me a car. But you did and I'm going to pay you back." I tell her. "Ana, enough! I refuse to let you pay me for anything. We're sisters. I'm always gonna be here for you no matter what. That's my job." Ari says to me.
I was definitely blessed. My life wasn't perfect, but I had everything I needed. A beautiful, healthy baby boy. My loving husband, and my amazing sister. To me, this was the key to happiness. I really didn't need anything else. What more could a girl ask for?
