* Gia's P.O.V *
- A week later -
"Ima just run inside real quick and then we can go to the fair aight?" August says,getting out of the car. I was about to say something but before I could, August ran in the store. I sighed and looked at our beautiful daughter in the backseat. She was playing on her iPad. "I love your daddy but he gets on my nerves sometimes." I said to her. She laughed. "That's not nice, mommy!" She says. "I know,baby. But it's the truth!" I tell her. Sky went back to using her iPad.
It was a breezy Saturday afternoon and we had plans to take Sky to a carnival. We were on our way there now, but my knuckle head of a husband was too worried about hitting up the store to buy wraps. He knows better than to be smoking around Sky. Of course, he doesn't smoke around her but sometimes I just have to remind him. He hasn't been smoking a lot since she's been born so I was proud of him.
Finally, August came out of the corner store and got back in the car. "Y'all ready?" He asked,looking at me. I smiled. "I've been ready, daddy!" Sky yells from the backseat. Both August and I laughed. "You heard her, daddy." I said. August put his seatbelt back on and started the car. "Alright well I won't keep you waiting any longer, princess." He said. We pulled off. Sky was cheering in the back.
Ariel called me as soon as we found a parking spot. "Hello?" I said into the phone. "Hey,are y'all at the fair?" She asked. "We literally just got here." I told her. August opened my door for me and then he opened the door for Sky. "Oh okay. We just got here too." My best friend tells me. Where y'all at?" I asked. "We're by the Ferris wheel. We gonna wait for y'all." Ari tells me. "Okay girl. See you in a little bit." I said. "Okay bye." Then I hung up the phone.
We met up with Ari and Brandon by the Ferris wheel, exactly where she said they would be. I greeted Ari first by giving her a big hug. "Hi beautiful!" She says. It was hard for me to give anybody a real hug because of my belly, but I tried. "You look cute,mama!" I said to her. She smiled and rubbed her belly. Even though we were both pregnant, I was 6 months pregnant and she was only 4 months. I was having another girl, and she was having her first girl. We're already plotting on our kids to be best friends.
"Mama, can I go on the train ride?" Sky asked, tugging on my sundress. "Yes, baby. Daddy's gonna go on with you okay?" I said to her. She cheered and grabbed August's hand. "We'll be sitting here." I told him. He kissed my cheek. "Aight, lets go princess!" He says to our child. They walked away and I sat at the bench with Ariel. "So how are you?" I asked Ari. "I'm good. How are you miss thang? I feel like we haven't hung out in forever!" Ari tells me. I sipped my lemonade. "We literally hung out like last week." I said to her. She laughed. "I know but I'm just saying I wish things were like how they used to be." Ariel says to me. "You mean before we both became moms?" I asked. She nodded and then we both laughed. "Yes,girl! I'm not even an official mom yet but I'm definitely starting to feel overwhelmed." Ari admits. I grabbed her hand. "I understand. It's definitely gonna be hard but once the baby is here it's all gonna be worth it." I tell her. She smiles at me and we share a hug. "Thanks girl." She says to me. "No problem. So, have you and Brandon came up with any names yet?" I asked. "We've decided to name her Penelope Rose." Ariel announces. I gasped. "I love that!" I said. "Thank you, it literally took forever to come up with that name. You have no idea." Ari says. "I can imagine." I said.
We were walking around, August was carrying a sleeping princess Sky and holding my hand at the same time. We were getting ready to leave but also talking to Ari and Brandon before we left. "You'll never guess who I saw last week." Ari whispered to me, while August strapped Sky in the car. "Who?" I wanted to know. "Asia." She said. I almost dropped my drink. "Where you see her at?" I asked. "I saw her at the grocery store. You know she had a kid?" Ariel says to me. I made a face. "Mmm. Ima keep my comments to myself." I said to my best friend. Ari laughed at me. "Stop being mean, Gi." She says. "I wasn't being mean. I ain't say nothing." I said to her. We hugged. "Ima call you later." She says to me. "Okay, bye babe." I said. I got in the car and put my seatbelt on. Sky was still fast asleep in her car seat. "What were y'all chatting about?" August questioned. I was debating whether or not I should tell August about Ari running into his crazy ex girlfriend. She was irrelevant and things have been great since she's been out of the picture. So why even bring her up?- Later That Night -
It was 8:45 and we were getting ready for bed. Sky was sleeping peacefully in her bedroom. We had already eaten at the fair, and now we were just gonna cuddle in bed. Today was just an amazing day.
Anyway, I was laying in bed, looking for something interesting to watch on Netflix. Then, August came in the room and jumped on the bed. "August, what the hell?" I complained. He kissed my cheek and then lay his head on my belly. "I'm sorry, baby." He says. "Mhmm." I mumbled, finally finding something for us to watch. "So what we watching?" He asked. "Umm, this movie called 'Someone Great'." I said. He huffed and puffed. "A chick flick? Come on now!" He fussed. I sucked my teeth and rolled my eyes. "Boy if you don't be quiet." I said. "You lucky I love you." August says. I laughed. "You literally don't have a choice." I tell him.
