"Papa, look at mommy! Look at mommy, baby." I say to my son, tryna get his attention. "Over here, pop! Look." Terrell says. We were trying to get some cute pictures of Amari with his hair all cute and braided up. My baby has just turned 3 and was getting so big. He was everything.
My sons birthday was last week, but we decided to throw him a Spider Man themed birthday party this weekend. Terrell and I were so blessed to have Amari in our lives. The party wasn't anything too big. We just decided to throw a have a little barbecue in the backyard. Everything was decorated in Spider Man gear cause my baby loved Spider Man.
I had custom t-shirts made for me, Terrell, and my parents. Speaking of Terrell and I, we were back together. We've been back together for 3 months now. I promised him that I'd prove myself to him because I really wanted to marry this man. He was my everything.
Since nobody really fucked with me, the only people at Amari's party were my parents, Terrell's twin siblings, Elijah and Ella, Terrell's parents, our neighbors from across the street, and my friend Jaide. It was fine though because today wasn't about me. It was about my baby boy. I did have a little surprise for everybody later though. I couldn't wait to announce it.
The party was starting to wrap up, and everybody was getting ready to leave. So, I thought now would be a perfect time to make my little announcement. I stood by the pool. "Could we have everybody's attention, please?" I said. Terrell held Amari while he stood up beside me.
"We just wanted to thank everyone so much for coming to help celebrate Amari. We hope y'all had a good time. And now we have an announcement." I said. Terrell looked at me, confused. I winked at him. I take a small envelope out of my back pocket and hand it to him. "Babe, what is this?" He asked. "Look at it." I tell him. Terrell opens the envelope, revealing a bunch of sonogram photos, and becomes ecstatic. He starts jumping and running all over the backyard. "SHE PREGNANT YALL!!" He shouted. Everybody cheered. I laughed at his excitement.
Later that night, I was getting Amari ready for bed. I gave him a bath and was now getting him dressed. He was all nice and clean now. Terrell came in the room. "Hey, babe." I said, as he sat next to me on the bed. He kissed me on the forehead. "Hi, baby!" He says. I finally finished putting pajamas on my son. That boy moves way too much.
"How you feeling?" Rell asked me. "I feel good. I'm happy." I tell him. "That's good, baby. I'm proud so proud of the woman you're becoming." My man tells me. I smiled. "Thank you!" I said. I let Amari off my lap so that he could play with his toys. "Let's get married." Terrell says, completely out of the blue.
"You wanna marry me?" I asked Terrell, in shock. "Of course I do. I love you, baby." He says to me. I wanted to marry him more then anything. "I put you through so much though. Are you sure you wanna spend the rest of your life with somebody like me?" I said, looking down at the hardwood floors. Terrell lifted my chin, forcing me to look at him. "That's not who you are anymore. You've changed. You've grown and you've become a better person." My man says. I smiled at him. I really loved this man.

- 2 months Later -

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." Terrell wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed me passionately. I was now Mrs. Terrell Whyte.  My life was now complete. I was a wife, and a mother, expecting another baby with the love of my life.
Terrell and I decided to just go ahead and elope. We wanted to get married right away. It just felt right so we figured, why wait? He and I were so in love. I finally had my perfect little family.
My mother and father were in attendance, along with my best friend Jaide, and Terrell's Grandmother. Unfortunately, Terrell's parents refused to come because they didn't like me. That made me sad because I was really trying my hardest to win their approval. I've also been trying everything to become better. Not everybody's gonna like you though.
I haven't talked to my sister, Carmen in months. We have each other blocked on social media. I mean, I did tell her that I wanted nothing to do with her. She fucked my baby daddy but she was still my sister. Maybe I'll give her a call later on.
"Hello?" Carmen says into the phone. "Hey, Carmen!" I said, happy to hear from my sister. "Asia? Why the fuck you calling my phone?" She snapped. Well shit. "First of all, what's with the attitude? Second, I haven't talked to you in months. I wanted to check on my sister." I said. All I wanted to do was talk to my sister. Now I'm beginning to think this was a mistake.
"We haven't talked in months and now all of a sudden you wanna check up on me? Get the fuck outta here, bro!" Carmen says. "Carmen, that's why I wanted to reach out to you. Because we haven't talked in so long. But don't get it fucked up, sweetie. The phone works both ways!" I said. Carmen laughed on the other end of the phone. And I thought I was crazy. "I deleted your number. How the fuck you think Ima let you punch me in my face and just be cool about it?" My sister says. "Carmen, I apologized a million times. What else do you want from me?!" I said. "By the way, mommy told me about you getting married to Terrell. Congratulations! I didn't wanna ruin your special day but when Terrell and I fucked, he nutted in me and got me pregnant. But don't worry I didn't keep it." Carmen says. Before I could even say anything else, she hung up the phone. That whore!
"Terrell, can we talk?" I said. "Of course, baby. What's wrong?" He says. "I talked to Carmen today for the first time in months." I say. Terrell took a seat on the bed. I sat down next to him. "Oh, really? How did that go?" He asked. I sighed deeply. "Not good. Not good at all." I say to him. "What did she say?" He wanted to know. "We got into a little argument and she basically told me that when y'all hooked up, she had gotten pregnant." I said. When I looked up at Terrell, it looked like his soul left his body. "She's pregnant?" He said. "She didn't keep it." I tell him. "Oh." He says. There was an awkward silence.
I wasn't angry, honestly. We weren't together at the time that they hooked up. The old Asia wouldn't have been as calm. She would have most likely done something to end up in jail. But the new Asia? She was still learning. And that was okay.
