It was dark and sounds were muffled. I was pushed and dragged around with little effort occasionally making out what sounded like crows and sometimes even what sounded like Brook. Then I opened my eyes and had trouble to see clearly. My vision came back slowly and I could hear Brook somewhat clearly now. I was about to speak when Brook stopped me.

Brook came over to me slightly less frantic but still a bit of fear and disgust in his voice as he retold what happened and where we were. He said that in the confusion of my brothers turned into crows someone whispered in my ear that they'd stay that way forever if I made a sound. For whatever reason he didn't know why. But he knew they were important to me so he didn't want me to risk it. After that it appeared as though she had vanished then someone else hit me over the head then he tried to stop him and we were both grabbed. Then we were shipped off to Sabaody to be sold off as slaves and that we were in an auction house at the moment. I looked at him pleadingly. He said I won't let you be sold alone.

The auction began. Several people were sold. Then it was time for me to be sold and Brook insisted we be sold together and be more useful that way. His reasoning was what one of us couldn't do the other one could. Eventually he convinced the auctioneers to sell us together. We were then sold to a couple from the West Blue who thought a couple of children could be useful.

For the next 7 years we would do just about any job that was assigned to us whether we were told to or not. Brook would often keep company entertained with a classical song on whatever instrument was available at the time. While I usually would be the taste tester or scrub the manor top to bottom. When the 2 of weren't busy doing that, attending to the lady and lord of the manor, or other chores. We occasionally snuck in some training so not to entirely forget to fight or just sit in each others company. Also during this time Brook was forced to eat the Yomi Yomi no mi when he tried to do something the couple didn't like.

During the last week of the 7 years the Lord and Lady said they were going to visit a Royal family of another country whom the queen had recently passed. They were going because the queen was such a dear friend of theirs and they wanted to give their condolences to her grieving husband. Their only heir had been babynapped years before and the king was too old and heartbroken to remarry and have another. They told them none of their usual attandants were free to help carry their things and so on so the 2 of them would have to do.

We prepared their bags and set out on the voyage. When they first arrived we had their things brought to their masters room then proceeded to be presented before the king. We made an effort not to be seen or heard but stay close to our masters as we entered the throne room. As they approached and had bowed before the king the king noticed Brook. He asked who the boy was and why they had him in chains like a common thief. They replied that they had purchased him and the girl a number of years ago as slaves and they were for the moment serving them as attendants.

The king told them unlock the boy from his restraints and bring him forward. They complied and brought him before the king. The king walked around him and looked him up and down. He got down on one knee and asked,"Do you know who I am boy?"

"I know you are king of this country and are in grieving over your late wife sir." Brook replyed.

"How old are you and do you know of your parents? Where you come from anything like that?" The king asked.

"My name is Brook. I'm about 13 years old and except for a handful of years of freedom with my friend over there all I can remember is working as a slave. It was some of my earliest memories." Brook said politely.

The king then said "I believe I know who your parents were and where you came from young man." Then hugged him with tears in his eyes and said "Welcome home son."
