Part 20: Disagreements

Brook's Point of View...
     I went to sea as a pirate looking for her. Made friends, most who died by my side. Then she was the one to find me after I had nearly forgotten. One of the cherry blossoms had landed perfectly in her hair. She looked at my face real close when she let go of my chin and walked over to Derek. Derek turned back into a human (all of the samurai didn't seem to expect this) and Sparhawk hoisted him over her shoulder. Then walked back over to me.

     "Wha...what was that?" I asked a little bit confused. I thought you were going to kiss me.

     "Changed my mind." She said. "Plus your breath kinda smells. Besides I have a seriously injured brother to patch up. Also I'm the only one that can keep him calm enough to sit still. If he can't I'll have to restrain him. I'll tell you everything later."

     Kin'emon walked up. "So you were telling the truth he's human. How do you explain him being a dragon not that long ago. Magic powers from a nasty tasting fruit or what?" He asked.

     "Back to this argument again I see. He was born this way. His mother was a full pure blood dragon and his father a human. I don't want to get into how that worked out but it did." Sparhawk put simply. "We've been together since the day we were born. Other than a few exceptions."

     "I think I get it. He's still a dragon so he can't be here." Kin'emon said. "There's too much bad blood."

     "Great example for the kids. Really going to accept people who aren't a Mink, human, or in Kaley's case over there merperson or fishman." Sparhawk said with a flat tone.

     "He...ee....he's a monster!" Kaley yelled shakily tears still streaming down her eyes. "My dad had his leg bitten off by him before he brought us here to you."

     "Byron right." Sparhawk said with seeming to lose most of her anger. Then she leaned Derek against a tree not too far away before she sat down next to Kaley and Fuzzy. "Any one attack him right now and it will not end well." Sparhawk said staring at the samurai. Then turn to Kaley and Fuzzy. "I might be able to explain why he did that if one of the two of you tell me what happened on the island not long before when he bit off Byron's leg over there and the events shortly after. Besides Byron wouldn't be here alive if Derek wanted him dead. Just let me do a quick fix first." Sparhawk went over to Byron, Alex and Chopper backing off briefly, and created a skeletal replacement of his leg where it was missing. "That way he can walk somewhat normally until I can make him a prosthetic replacement."

     "How would you be able to understand my bear friend I made on the island we were on? Plus how did you make a leg out of bones?" Kaley said kind of teary eyed still. Sparhawk went back to sit back next to her. "And why do you keep calling her Fuzzy?"

      "I would be and am able to understand her because I was raised for the first two and a half years of my life by a polar bear alongside Derek. It just so happens Fuzzy is also a polar bear. Pertaining to me calling her Fuzzy is because that's her name." Sparhawk answered. "Plus I'm from the same island as her, so that's how I know her in a matter of speaking. I was able to recreate Byron's leg, or at least the bones in the lower half, because I ate a devil fruit. Now are you going to tell me why you think you're uncle Derek as a monster or what? Or do I ask Fuzzy? Derek is kinda running low on time due to bloodloss over there."

     "Wait what? How is she related to you that Derek would be her Uncle?" I asked suprised. "Is she your niece from one of you other brothers or what?"

     "I am trying to have a reasonable discussion with her. If you need to know she is Byron's adopted daughter." Sparhawk replied. "Byron is the injured man over there that came with these two on Derek's back. Your friend Chopper and my ship's doctor, Alex, are trying to treat him. I consider Byron family and will explain the rest later. Now may I get the events that happened that you would consider Derek such a horrible person?"
