Part 18: A Ghost From The Shadows

*Author's Notes: I will include a minor manga spoiler in this part. As to a scene that happens in the manga pertaining to the reveal of the traitor, without actually revealing who they are. As well as a few other changes to the scene obviously. Otherwise this will be another chapter based on the events happening in Wano. With little to no relevance to the canon of the story.*

Star's Point of View...
     I was coming through the forest with Inuarashi's group of minks and my crew towards the shoreline not to far from the shores of Onigashima; to meet with the rest of my crew docked not too far away. When I heard Momonosuke screaming not that far off on the beach close by. I told Wanda and them to keep moving and that I'd check it out. Also that I'd deal with the problem if there was one. Wanda agreed since Inuarashi had told her how capable I was and would signal with a specific whistle if I needed help. Once they were far enough away I put my plan into motion.

Momonosuke's Point of View...
     I was struggling against the vile traitor who had tricked and suffered alongside us all for years. Even if he was a member of that clan my father wouldn't have treated him any differently than he already had. I have no idea why he would after what we all went through. Even more so with my father and the others.

     As he was going on about how he tricked us all I saw movement by the edge of the forest that wasn't too far off. It appeared to be a shadow? Possibly a ghost of some sort? I wasn't that sure until a cloaked figure whoms face was covered by a hood with two large scythes came with a melodic staggering walk. Were they humming something? The traitor hadn't noticed yet but there was only one possibility of what it could be when I caught a glimpse of it's boney white face and it wasn't Bone-kichi. "Yo - ooo - Yőkai!!!!!" I yelled with fright.

     "Says the boy who seems to need assistance," the figure said almost as if they were smirking. "The one holding you hostage needs to attone for what he's done to you and your kin."

     "I was wronged long before I joined with Oden just because of who I'm descended from. As I told the others I bear no ill will towards any of them. Just helping out the one person who helped me out when I had no one. What's so wrong with that?" The traitor asked the figure.

     "True enough but these people didn't care about your past and still thought of you as a friend. Yet you have sold them out time and time again." The spectre replied. "You don't betray people who suffered along your side like that. For that you must pay. Let the boy go he's suffered enough because of your actions."

     "Then you have to take him from me. I won't make it easy either." The traitor retorted.

     The cloaked spectre sped towards us in the blink of an eye and slashed one of the scythes at the traitor. He threw me not too far from me so he could defend himself but trapping me in the process. Some time passed as the fight went on before the other Scabbards that were with us were picked up by Luffydono and his crew.

     The figure seemed to take notice as well, dodged an attack while hitting the rotten traitor in the groin before grabbing me, gaining wings somehow and flying up over to Luffydono's ship. I was so very confused and obviously not terrified of what this yőkai would do to me now that they had me.

Star's Point of View...
     Seriously this brat was a pain in the butt. As soon as I saw the others that were on the tiny dingy get on board the Sunny as the enemy approached I took a cheap shot at my opponent then went straight to Momonosuke. Easily making myself a set of skeletal wings to go with my boney appearance so I could get the kid to his remaining retainers faster.

     My hood came off as I flew over to the Sunny which just made Momo even more terrified seeing just a skeleton head with hair on it. When I landed on the Sunny I set Momo down and terrified most of the Strawhats and retainers there. "The Grim Reaper has come for me again!!!!" Brook basically screamed.

     "Stand back yőkai! We don't take kindly to spirits here!" Kin'nemon said with shaking legs.

     I put my hood back on before transforming back to my normal appearance around them. "Most of you have seen me do this with just my arms. How is making my whole body a skeleton any different?" I said as I stood with my hands on my hips taking my hood off again. "And it's not like I'm Davy Jones come to take your soul to the pirate graveyard Brook. Though he has been slacking on that with others for a while now. Kin seriously? You have seen me do something like this before."

     "So coooooooll!" Luffy said. "You sure you can't join our crew? Also can you poop when you're a skeleton like Brook?"

     "I have a better question." Brook asked. "How do you know the name of Davy Jones from the old legends? Most pirates now haven't heard of him before."

     "Luffy no on both counts." I replied calmly. "I'm NOT joining and my body doesn't work the same way as it normally does when I'm a skeleton. Brook I learned of these legends from Sparrow before she died. She'd be about your age too if she were here."

     "At your age and with how long you've had the fruit I'm not suprised you can do something like that with it." Inuarashi stated with a smirk. "Especially what I saw you do in the short time you were on Roger's crew with me and Nekomamushi."

     "Decades of practice and you have to have a few secrets with these things." I smirked. "Besides I was only on Roger's crew for about a year because someone else I knew on the crew asked before Roger did himself. Made it pretty clear I wouldn't fight or use my abilities unless necessary anyway. Especially when it came to Whitebeard's crew unless I felt like it."

     I turned to Momo before continuing, "Also Momo it's going to be difficult to trust people after being betrayed like that. It's going to be hard but now is not the time to be worrying about that. I'd give you a lecture but we have a fight to get to with the allies we have here and now. " I made a unique crow call to let my crew know what to do. "Any other questions will be answered after we beat up some of Kaido's crew out here. Might as well terrify some of them while I'm at it."

     I took a running jump as I transformed back into a skeleton making my wings again as I went. Reforming the scythes too. I may not be Davy Jones but nothing scares superstitious people (like most pirates and samurai) like a yőkai coming for them.
