Brook's Point of View...
I'd know those purple eyes anywhere. I run over to her tears still in my eyes. With all my might I never wanted to let her go again. I went up and lifted her in the air quick before I brought her down for a hug."Don't go breaking her now," another familiar voice said. He wasn't wearing a mask but I was having a hard time figuring out who he was until I recalled the striking resemblance to Derek who I hadn't seen for over 12 years at this point when he got taken down stalling for us to set sail to go find all Sparhawk's other brothers.
"I see you are wearing the gift I gave you the last time we saw each other." She mentioned.
I told her, "I had opened it up as soon as you were on board the ship. Then I wanted to play you a song, because as the ship was sailing away I was remembered you and wanted nothing more than to see you again."
"Go ahead and enjoy your party for now. I just want to watch the stars for now. They are quite beautiful tonight. Oh, and I don't intend to leave until later." She calmly said. "Besides I can take care of myself. Plus I have Derek as backup if you can't make it in time. If anyone tries to get at me."
Then I said, "Alright but promise me you won't keep me waiting for long."
She tells me, "Of course I won't be that long." So I go back inside to attend to some of my other guests.
Sparhawk's Point of View...
Brook went back inside and I let out a sigh. It was a relief to see him again. I asked Derek, " Go in ahead of me and keep an eye on Brook in case something happened to him." Tears started trickling down my face. I was so happy to see him again. But I knew I couldn't stay as long as I wanted to.Just before I put my mask on there's an handkerchief in my line of vision and I look at the man on the other end of it. It was a rather good looking man but not one that I knew. He said, "You're crying I thought that I could at least give you a handkerchief to dry them. I do hate seeing a beautiful lady like you crying."
I gladly accepted it and dab my eyes dry before putting my mask back on and gave the handkerchief back to the man. "Thank you. Honestly though did you really just came over because I was crying or because you were spying on me? Because it was kinda obvious to someone like me."
He admitted to me that he was spying on me. Then he turns me around leaning me against the railing. I hit him in the soft spot and flipped him over the railing before he had a chance to do anything inappropriate.
Before I finally went back in I took a deep breath and went in. Derek was just inside the door. "Rough night, huh?" He asked.
"Ha ha ha, very funny lizard breath." I retorted. "I'm just going to say farewell to Brook when I can manage to pull him away. Then we can go meet with the others back on the ship."
"Fine, fine he wanted to ask you something anyway. He'll find you if you can't manage to pull him aside anyway." He said. Soon after some dancing and talking with other guests Brook spots me and comes over.
He asked then asked if everything is alright. I replied with everything is alright. Then he starts to get excited and tells me that he has to ask me something very important. I tell him alright ask away. The next thing he did was get everyone's attention and brings me to the center of the room so everyone can see.
"Do you really need to ask me a very important question in front of the entire party?" I said with a raised eyebrow.
"I do." He said. Then he got down on one knee, pulled out a handmade ring, and asked me if I would marry him.
"No. I can't marry you. I came tonight to see you one last time and say goodbye. I'm so sorry." I replied. Then I ran out.
