22 | My Privo, My Baby

"Seraphina? Ang tanda mo na, dear! I mean you grew beautifully! Matagal na kitang hindi nakita. How are you?" Naging hilaw ang ngiti ko sa matandang ginang.

I couldn't remember who she really is but I recall my mother talking to her awhile ago, which means that she is someone important. Nandidito na rin ang mga matatandang Divinagracia, kasabay ng pagdating ni Sebastian kanina.

After he arrived, I couldn't easily converse with other people because of his presence. Malayo naman kami at mukhang hindi pa niya ako nakikita pero kinakabahan pa rin ako.

Ngumiti ako sa kaharap na Ginang at napilitan na lamang na sumagot. "Thank you, Madame. I'm doing well, actually. Ikaw po, kamusta na?"

My eyes kept on wandering to Sebastian's direction until I caught Desiree's eyes lurking on his way too. Nagkatinginan lang kami nang nanliit ang mga mata ko. She just smiled and shrugged afterward.

"Oh, I'm fine too. Our shipping lines are not on its peak because Efren and Imelda are just too tough in their work. Hindi namin kailanman malalampas ang mga Divinagracia, dear. Everyone knows that." She chuckled in her own remark.

Oh, her family owns a shipping line? Eh, 'di ako dapat ang kausapin niya. Sakto at napadaan malapit sa dako namin si Wyatt. He was all smiles until he noticed my glare at him. Napapunta tuloy siya sa pwesto ko.

When I subtly signaled him who's beside me, hindi matagal at nahulaan niya kaagad ang ibig kong sabihin.

"Good evening, Madame. I'm Wyatt Divinagracia. I'm sure we've seen each other before during parties but we never got the chance to talk."

Nang naramdaman ko na mas naging interesado na ang Ginang sa pinag-uusapan nila ni Wyatt ay umalis na ako.

When I looked at where Sebastian was awhile ago, there's no sign of him now at all. Saan ba 'yon nagpunta?

Dumaan na lamang ako sa buffet section para kumuha ng inumin. Surprisingly, I ought to pick the hard liquor instead of the cocktail that was offered to me.

Hindi ko talaga maintindihan kung bakit ganito ang epekto ng mga Puertollano sa akin. In the end, I always lose my senses when they're around. Hindi naman ganito kalala noon pero nagbago na ngayon.

"Zuri, have you seen Zachariah?" Muntik kong malunok ang buong shot ng Sunset Rum dahil sa biglaang pagdating ni River sa harapan ko. He looks very handsome but there's a hint of nervousness around him.

"Wala, River. Bakit? Is there an emergency?" Hindi ko na mapigilan ang pagtanong sa kanya.

They always seem to take care of the problems all on their own dahil sila ang nakakatanda. The older Divinagracias believe they have more potential compared to us because of more experience.

Totoo naman talaga na magaling sila. But how can the others grow when they're the ones who always get picked? Pipiliin lang ba kami kapag mamamatay na sila?

"There's no problem, Zuri. May hinahanap lang akong tao at baka kasama niya si Zach." Tumango lang ako at nakita na lamang siya na umalis.

Now that he mentioned Zach's name, I remembered their treachery to all of us. Hindi nila sinabi na may gusto na pala sila. Worse, it's the same girl!

A woman in her mid-twenties stole all my attention.

"Excuse me, Seraphina, right?"

She's wearing a white dress that made her look like an angel because of her milky soft skin... parang sa akin. Walang kahit na isang emosyon ang kita sa kanyang mukha. Her eyes are so sexy that you can't help but give all your attention to her.
