Luke couldn't quite believe it at first. Of course he knew that there were some problems between him and Maddison, but the idea that she had actually been cheating on him all this time, it just felt too unreal. He had thought she had actually loved him for a little while, but it had probably just all been a lie.
Right after Rebecca had explained everything to me, it had all made sense. The looks that Maddison would give him, but especially others from time to time, the silences between us, the bossy attitude. She had never actually cared about him- clearly, all she that cared about was sex and popularity.
Well screw her. If she wanted to play games, that was fine. She just better be prepared for the possibility of losing.
As you see, I was quite bitter about it. Not that I still loved her, but I really don't like it when people lie to me and toy with me. Especially when I once cared about them a lot and they fuck me over.
Together with Rebecca, I'm going to make her fall so hard a fall down off Mount Everest would seem gentle.
Rebecca. There was something about that girl that I really liked, in a friendly way. She is the first one to tell me how things really are, the first person that isn't careful with her words because of who I am and just fuckning man up and tell me straight to the face how it's at. She doesn't care if I'm the captain of the football team or the "boyfriend" of the lead cheerleader. She treats me like she treats anyone she doesn't know, like trash. And I am thankful for it.
She's like the person I used to be. Before Maddison. Rude, wrong, and herself. And I want to be like that again. I guess it's time to unleash the old me.

I didn't see neither of the two girls involved until the next Friday, when both Maddison and I were at that club, Club Monteiro again and Rebecca's band was playing. Maddison had insisted on going there again and since I was still playing the game of being a loyal boyfriend, I tagged along.
"Look," Maddie whined in disappointment. "they've got the same band as last week. " And I could hear the silent 'with the girl you were looking at.' behind it. Apparently, she didn't like competition but she herself slept around like a cheap slut. How twisted was that?
But instead of yelling at her, I smiled and replied calmly; "That's cool, they're really good, especially the girl, she's hot."
Part one out of endless of my revenge.
Maddison looked at me with wide blue eyes that already were simmering with rage. "Excuse me. What did you say?"
"You are excused. " I chuckled, taking over Rebecca's line. "She is hot. What, do you get to say that, what was his name again, Thomas Brodie-something is hot, but I can't express my opinion on people I find attractive?"
She narrowed her eyes and pouted, but I could see barely concealed anger in her eyes. "Oh, now she isn't just hot, but over all atractive, that's rich. And it's different! I'm the girl in the relationship, I get to say that! But you are supposed to compliment me en give me more confidence about myself!"
Like you would need that. I thought by myself. "And furthermore, Thomas Brodie-Sangster is unreachable for me, he's an actor in Hollywood! But this girl is here, on stage, and you could get her right now."I snorted, shaking my head at the stupidity. "Even if I wanted her, Becca would never want me."
Maddie focused her eyes on Rebecca furiously. "And now you even know her?" She furrowed her brow. "Becca, you said huh? Rebecca Fray, by any chance?"
Shit, did I get my partner in crime in trouble now?
I shrugged, trying to play it off cool, "Dunno her last name, really, she's in my math class." It was the truth, I didn't know her last name, but Maddie didn't even listen. On her face was the same evil glare that she always had when she thought someone was lower than her or a threat to her. Funny that I was only noticing it now. A little less funny was the treat it held to Rebecca and the plan that was not there yet.
"Pour, pour Rebecca, changed her looks so I wouldn't recognise her. Bad luck for you girl, I found you again." Shit, shit, shit, shit. This was not good, this was definitely not good. I needed to warn Rebecca right now, before things would turn out wrong and she would blame me.
I took a look at the stage and saw that the band was off for now. This was my chance. I kissed Maddison on the lips for as short as possible and said; "Hun, I'm going home, I am not feeling well, you stay here and have fun okay?" The smile on my face couldn't be any more fake.
She nodded eagerly. Way too eagerly. Damnit, why was I too blind to notice all the signs when they had been laughing me right in the face? Even I, the once notorious bad boy, was a fool for love and I didn't like that idea at all. It made me vunrable.
I started to make my way through the extatic crowd, faking my direction towards the entrance to make Maddie think I was truly leaving, but once I was out of sight, I headed to the backstage entrance. Making sure that the guard was looking the other way, I slipped through the door. I probably would've gotten in anyway, but where's the fun in that? Besides, if anyone overheard, Maddie would know of it.
In the backroom, all of the bandmembers were seated, drinking water or fixing their wires of their instruments and tuning guitars. One guy, Paul I think, noticed me and rose to his feet. Shit.
"Hey! What are you doing here? You can't come in here." He demanded, eyeing me carefully. He was broad shouldered and obviously trying to look bad. It wasn't really working, and trust me, I know what bad looks like.
"Don't worry," I said, smirking. I wasn't really feeling comfortable here, but there was no reason to let them know that. "I'm not a crazy fan or something, I promise. I'm a friend of Rebecca and I really need to talk to her." Great, way to sound desperate.
"Can't it wait?" Some guy with green spikes in his hair replied impatiently. He was tapping his fingers against his bottle of water nervously, like it was a habit.
"No, it's important" I pressed. It really was. Knowing Maddie, she might egg Rebecca on stage or something extreme like that. She had actually done that before.
"Ok." Paul shrugged, pretending he didn't care. He was eyeing me like a protective big brother though. "She's over there." He pointed at a corner where Rebecca was standing, with her back to us, fixing her ear wire that led to a little black box hanging from the waistband of her jeans. I hadn't even seen her yet. "Becca! There is someone for you here!" He suddenly yelled, me winching of the volume of it.
She turned around when I got closer and her eyes widened. "Luke, what the fuck are you doing here? I told you before not to talk to me again till you've got a plan, and seriously, this is not the good time to come to me about that, you dumb ass." Her glare was simply frightening.
I heard mister green spikes snort behind me "Friends he said, huh?"
"Becky, this is serious, all right?" Damn, I really did sound desperate.
She glared and poked a sharp finger into the center part of my chest. "Do. Not. Call. Me. That. You hear me? And make it quick asshole," She looked at her wrist as if looking at an invisible watch. "You've got one minute."
I ruffled my hair with one hand, trying to gather my words before the 'time' ran out. "Okay, listen, I don't know anything about your relationship with Maddison, but she recognised you on stafe. She was looking at you and somehow recognised you while she didn't before. And her voice was not right Singsong, she is planning on doing something nasty to you."
Rebecca muttered something under her breath that sounded like 'It wouldn't be the first time' and said; "Well, thanks dumbass. I appreciate your concern." Sarcams was lacing in her voice heavily. Paul called out to her that they were about to start and she gave me a look, half cold, half friendly. "Bye asshole, have fun with the bitch!" It sounded rather insincere.
I rolled my eyes at her and said; "That depends on your definition of fun, Singsong."
She smiled wickedly back at my and grabbed her guitar, disappearing on stage. Sure, the coming weeks will be the right kind of fun. I was going to give Maddie the full payback for what she did to me and to Rebecca, whatever she did to her anyway.
It's like they always say right?
Karma is a bitch.
